hammerforged
Anyone tried these yet? If they work as well as the regular Thermacells, then I'm thinking I gotta have one.
GWSmith
Scent Blockers??? I have 2 one I use as a regular bug eliminator the other as a heated scent dispenser.
toddyboman
Not sure about the "scent blocker" but is this what you are talking about.....

RangerClay
Or better yet! One of these! Nothing says I'm in the mood like mosquito repellant!
hammerforged
Yeah, the ThermoScent is the one I am talking about. I heard from a few that the scent is strong enough that it could be considered a boost to your regular scent blocker. My local Academy doesn't have any in stock at the moment. So, I was thinking about ordering one but wanted to see if anyone had tried them yet.
GWSmith
Yeah, the ThermoScent is the one I am talking about..........I was thinking about ordering one but wanted to see if anyone had tried them yet. Yes that's the one I have and it works!!! Turns any deer urine/scent into a vapor that floats through the air and I'm assuming smells to any deer like it was freshly deposited in the area. RangerClay
One of the best bowhunters I have ever met used to use a tin can, an odorless candle and a bottle of Tinks. I have never found time to try it but he truely believed in it. He would tell that scents in nature can be warm and so should mine. He had great success. Now that Thermacell is offering these things I may try one.
GWSmith
Joe, I used to take an old t-shirt pocket, a handwarmer, and set it out at 20yds for a yardage marker after dosing the pocket with Tink's 69. I like using the Thermacell Scent Dispenser better;)

Flintlock1776
He means these! I think? I got that one on ebay as I could not find it in stores anywhere. Looks like I'll have to go ebay for the dirt Thermacell pads too. Works great however.
Texan_Til_I_Die
You can buy the "blank" pads and add your own scents. I'm thinking about cutting one of the mosquito pads in half, cut a blank pad in half, soak the blank in doe-p (or whatever), staple the 2 halves together and burn both out of a single Thermocell. That way I'd get both mosquito repellent and attractant scent from a single unit. Anyone else ever tried it?

GWSmith
That idea has merit! I agree it sounds good...but I'd be more inclined to try this technique using the Bug Repellant/Cover Scent double pad idea. Maybe soaking one/half pad in HS Fresh Earth or Unscented cover scent. I'll keep the attractants out there away from my scent path downwind hoping they pick up that scent path and come in. I'd have to think about how much heated doe urine I want to smell coming up from under the seat on the deck of my treestand too:confused:

Just be careful not to start a forest fire maybe set up a clean circle with some rocks around it.
