Bears!!!

This morning I went right to the woods and sat for a couple hours. It was a glorious morning. I saw a bachelor group of 5 bucks with the biggest being a small 8 pt with a 6pt and three fork horns. Feeling the hit from working all night I decided to try for my doe another day.....

I got to the ground, pulled my last five steps, reeled in my strap to my bow and and headed out. I walked right into .....BEARS!!!

Needless to say I was a bit nervous as I fumbled with the camera trying to get good light and focus. Sows with cubs will do that to you.....

Had I stayed in the tree I probably could have kept a little more composure for the exposure...dang, I left too soon! :D

did i see a radio collar on that bear??

Yes, that is a radio collar. She was probably relocated here after maybe being a problem somewhere else in the state. Saw more bears in the last 4 years than I have in the previous 30.

you mean ol' momma and her babies scared you :p:p:D:D

Great pics!

Thanks, toddy, Not that I was petrified... , but they did turn up the pump a bit!:D

I've only encountered a bear one time up close and it was in the dark. Luckily I realized that I was getting close and was able to back off. He was huffing at me and I had to check my drawers when he finally wandered off and I made it to my stand. That's the most scared I've ever been in the woods. EVER!
