Buckslayer
should be a nice cool morning, hopefully something is moving. Definitely. Just checked the weather. Lows to be around 40F for mid-western PA. Highs around 60F. Clear for most of the state too. Good luck from me also, and be safe! Tell someone where you're going, and when you'll be back, and wear your harness! Let the air out of a few bruisers why don't we?!

jbeck
Good luck to all PA'ers! I think I'll cut some fire wood, I'll let the slaying up to John and Charlie until latter in the season. LOL I'm sure it won't be cool enough for me.

Guest jlh42581
Im pumped. Some really nice bucks out there since AR started. I actually talked my boss into letting me work an extra hour 4 days a week and take an afternoon off of my choosing every week during archery season. punkinslinger
I'll be out on gamelands and will probably be crowded by out of staters as usual the first day. I don't have any private ground here in NE PA to hunt. Been seeing some nice ones..just have to be patient. Good Luck.

Tonight looks like it should be a bit more tolerable. Sure was a far cry from the clear, sunny, 0% percent chance of rain day we were supposed to have today huh? Saw 3 doe early. I'm thinking tonight should be a good one.
Hoyt03
ended up taking a 2.5 yr old doe and almost closed the deal on a decent little buck. First day with the new Hoyt so had to let one fly. Saw alot of deer today and a flock of longbeards.
buckbuster11
Tonight was a little better. Saw 7 doe and a spike buck, and my younger brother shot his first ever bow buck. Actually, it was his first ever deer with a bow, period. It has a nice 4 point right side and just a main beam with no tines on the left. We have several trail cam pics of it and decided if we saw it we'd take it out. So all in all, it was one heck of a way to kick off the season. Hoyt03
Thanks Jbeck. She dressed out at 91 lbs so I will have a little meat in the freezer. You should have seen the group of longbeards that came by, I was wishing it was late april and I had my 12 gauge. Next saturday I'm hopefully gonna get one of those bucks, then i'm off to OBX for a wk. Goodluck if you get out.
Flintlock1776
Time to report in yall. How did it go?
007hunter
Managed to get out before work Saturday. Saw 21 deer total. 15 while on stand and 6 in the fields while walking out at 9:30. Wouldn't ordinarily leave the woods so early but I had to work. I did pass up a doe at 10 yds twice. Didn't want to chance losing her with the rain plus having to work later. Only one buck out of all them deer and he was one of them out in the field as I was leaving. Overall a good morning....felt good to get out...
