Bowtech_archer07
Ok, I go to school in Bloomington-Normal, IL, up by Chicago. There are a lot of Cubs fans, and the only thing that I keep hearing is Cubs are gonna win the World Series. I cannot see that happening. Not just because I'm a Cardinals fan, but because they play the Dodgers in the first round. Granted the Cubs took the season series from the Dodgers, but they also haven't played the Dodgers since the Dodgers acquired Manny. He is an RBI machine and has given that club a great boost. They are extremely hot right now, and I see the Dodgers winning that series in 4 games. I give the Cubs 1 at home, but I think the Dodgers are honestly too good. Am I wrong??? JJL
1. It's the playoffs, anything can happen. 2. It's the Cubs, anything can happen... 3. Who they gonna blame it on this time?
MCH
I'm a diehard Dodger fan, so I'm biased.:D Bottom line? Dodgers have the best pitching staff in the National League and if Manny gets hot, we'll be tough to beat.
buckbuster11
Dodgers won't lose a game the entire postseason. Heck, run the table right now with their AA team.
VABuckSlayer
I think the Phillies beat the Dodgers then lose to the Angels in the Series.
Master_Chief
I was with you there Eric, right up to the point where you said Angels. Go BoSox.
Bowtech_archer07
I see the Dodgers winnin the NL, playin the BoSox in the WS and the Sox winning it all...
muggs
Actually, I think the Dodgers can win this series, mostly due to the fact Harden and Zambrano have been very shaky. The Cubs have a stud bullpen though, that's usually what wins WS for teams. We'll see, their season is on the line tonight. I think if the Cubs win tonight they'll win the series, if they lose, than obviously it's over. Lou won't let one bat beat him, I'd walk ManRam to load the bases with no outs if I had to. Dodgers bullpen is better than the Cubs...easy. As for walking ManRam, they basically did that last night. Then Loney knocked a granny on them. backwoods07
Bowtech, I went to U of I in champaign, and I know EXACTLY how you are feeling. There are Cubs fans here that can not name 3 starters, but will not give up on the fact that their Cubbies will win it all. This year? Cubs are out in the first round. I said from day one, Dodgers will be the team to beat in the playoffs, especially with Saito and Furcal back in the mix.
VABuckSlayer
I was with you there Eric, right up to the point where you said Angels. Go BoSox. That's right Dave... your a Sox fan. Being a Yankees fan you know I can't pull for them. I'd be surprised if they beat the Angles but they did last night. You (unfortunately ) can never count out the BoSox! Then Loney knocked a granny on them. I heard about Loney's granny, didn't realize they walked ManRam to make it happen. Even so, I'd do it again and see if Loney can repeat. If I'm a manager, I'm cool with saying Loney beat us...as long as I didn't let ManRam beat us. I just hope the Dodgers didn't use up all their runs last night. I agree I would walk Manny each time too... As for walking him last night....Wasn't that the inning when Depster walk the base loaded .....He had Manny 0-2 then couldn't find the strike zone.....So while he did walk him it was not intentional. But Loney did blast that pitch he got. Cubbie fans better pray that the No Hitter Zambrano shows up tonight and not the 6 runs in the first inning. MCH
Actually he didn't walk Manny. Manny reached on an infield single/error(not sure on the ruling). I remember distinctly because of all the hub-bub about Manny not hustling and he ended up running the out the play that set up the slam. My point is that I know Manny is easily the best offensive guy on our team, but just having him in the dugout makes our young guys a lot better. He gives them confidence. Add confidence to the fact that they don't have to have the "must win now" feeling and you've got a good combination. Look at Derek Lee, Aramis Ramirez and even Soriano. They're almost to the point where they're going to start believing that they're not going to have too many chances to win the big one. And add that to the "the Cubs are cursed" belief and you've got pressure. But the young Dodger core know that their ride is just beginning. Not as much pressure on their end. I forgot.....Can't believe I forgot cause I was amazed Manny was busting it down the line. It was some other time when Dempster had Manny 0-2 then couldn't find the strike zone.
