BowJoe
I know some of you have been around long enough to hear me blather on about events and happenings in my life so here's a few more. My wife just had her second total hip replacement in 3 years. In between that time, she's had 2 beautiful baby girls named Emileigh Jane and Kyleigh Jo. Both were C-Section and her tubal is complete. We have all the family we want and thank God for each blessing!!! Her first total hip was done in Sept. of 05 and this last one was done on the other hip Sept. 29th of this year. Almost 3 years to the day. Some of you may be asking why a 29 year old has to have had both of her hips replaced and here's the reason. She has MS and when the lesions in her brain open and the white blood cells try to heal the lesions, they swell and sometimes put pressure on her nerves which can be anything from optic nerves to you name it. It's scary to think that if a lesion opens up close enough to her motor part of the brain or her basic function part of the brain, it could kill her or at the very least, cripple her for life. Scary to say the least. Anyway, so in order to stop the swelling, she has to take steroids to weaken her immune system. The steroids are like terpentine through the veins so you can imagine what they do to the rest of the body. About one out of every ten people that take steroids have avascular necrosis in the joints and even more rare is to have it in the hips. Usually it's in the knees or elbows. Blessed I guess. Avascular necrosis is where the blood flow is limited to bone and in her case it's her hips. Before they replaced her left hip, the ball and socket actually chipped off bone sometimes when she walked. Not good. With her last hip surgery, she was back to work in 3 weeks and became pregnant less than 2 months later. Hey, she's just as guilty as I am. LOL. She's still in the hospital and should be released tomorrow. She's feeling better than she did on the first hip surgery but her right leg is swelling and the nurses there suck. I know, I used to work there in Security. I'm here with both girls and they are giving me a run for my money. So now that ya'll are up to date on the hip thing, I wanted to announce the birth of our little girl, Kyleigh Jo Shaw. She was born on 06/06/08 and weighed 6 lbs.- 5 ozs. She has bright red hair and baby blue eyes. She laughs all the time and looking at me, you know why. I know I waited a few months to let ya'll know but being on the road keeps you away from much of the internet world. That and I am just lazy. Either way, I told you now before she entered college so that's enough time for me. :D:D I'm probably going to miss 99% of this season but I still try to hunt vicariously through my friends in life and on Realtree.com. Hopefully next year, I'll have enough experience to either go local or at the least on a dedicated run for a company. Good luck all and I hope ya'll keep the stories coming. I am already enjoying some of them and I hope I can have one of my own before the year's out. Thanks for reading and I appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers for my wife and our little hurdle towards her being pain free.
