mosscamo
I just received this stand and put it together. My first impresion is it looks good for the price. Do any of you have one and if so can you put it up yourself or do you need help. Looking for any set up tip you might have. Hope someone has one on the Realtree sight it's a Team Realtree stand. GWSmith
It's at least a two person job to do safely. Page 10 and 11 of my manual showed 3 people...which would be have been easier if the extra guy was anywhere around when we did the setup. We leaned the stand up against the tree together so we could tell approximately were the feet needed to be then layed it back on the ground. We leveled off the ground there as best as possible to make it easier to do the final stand setup. I placed the feet in the approximate position they would be on the ground. My buddy had the ropes around the tree and pulled while I pushed the stand up towards the tree. After it was touching the tree, and the deck/platform looked level, we crossed the ropes and tied them to the ladder. I connected the strap to the ladder(just below the truss)and the tree and tightened it the best I could from the ground. While I held the stand my buddy climbed up, harnessed onto the tree, and used 2 ratchet straps to attach the top. He then attached a rock climbing rope to the tree above his head while up there. On his way down I handed him the strap end that attaches below the truss and he made sure he could not get it any tighter. After he got to the ground we attached the climbing rope to the bottom of the ladder. We added a Prussic knot to it so all I have to do is attach my harness to it when I get there to hunt and I'll be safe when I climb. It can be done with 2 people but it would have been easier and probably more fun with 3.
ny_gun
It is a great stand! I purchased mine last January when our Dick's Sporting Goods had them on sale for $119. 3 guys & a tractor bucket were used to put mine up. But I am sure 2 guys could of done it. GWSmith
...Are you useing the blind enclosuer for archery?... No...I have an older set of coveralls in Advantage Timber that faded over time. I spent hours and hours sewing those 3-D "Sneaky Leaf" onto it. After doing that, and jabbing my fingers a bunch of times, I'm getting all the use out of it as I can!
Flintlock1776
I use the Ameristep "The Choice" Blind. Awesome blind but I can't use the skirt while bow hunting because you have to lower the bar for the camo skirt to be effective. I took a doe out of it at 10 yards last season so maybe the skirt is nice but not critical.

Flintlock1776
No. I am only using the Camo on the sides. I took the gun rest off the stand. I kept my bar on in case I take my little guy up there for some still hunting training;) This way it keeps him from forgetting we are up 12' even with his safety vest on it gives his perspective of the zone we are in.
