Guest ArcheryFool
What .243 rounds would you recommend for deer. My son is hunting deer for the first time this year, (10yr old) and I am looking for opinions as the best round to use.
wtnhunt
Would suggest trying some different loads and see what the gun likes. My wife shoots corelokts, and they have been very effective, her savage model 10 likes them too.

Ethan Givan
yep, 100 grain corelocks. My dad has a rem. 700 in .243 and he has killed a buck and a doe with it, and my brother killed a button buck with it. The buck and and button buck both dropped in there tracks, and the doe didnt go very far. They get the job done.
mailmanmark
100g corelokts are good but my .243 liked the Federal Premium loaded with the 85g Barnes TSX bullet. But as others have said, let the gun do the talking. Good Luck.
johnf
Mine likes Winchester Super X a little better than the Remington, not by much though.
