davetucker
Today was one of he best days of my life!!My 6 yr old son and i went on his first hunt!!Legally here in m aine he's not allowed to hunt until he's ten!!It is only grouse season and i love to eat them!!The season just started wednesday!!The week has been crappy so we made plans for today cuz it was supposed to be nicer!!When i woke up i waited to see if the mist was going to stop in which it did!!The wind was blowing pretty good and was cold and cloudy!!My son still wanted to go though!!So i thought it was still a chance to spend time with my son!!I knew that the weather was going to keep them hunkered down somewhere we wern't!!We took the arctic cat and went!!Like i thought we didn't see anything but was doing some alright scouting!!He got tired and cold fast and wanted to ride into town on the 4wheeler and get some lunch so we did!!We ate and headed back while stopping and walking around the woods till he got tired and wanted to head further!!We were almostg home when the biggest memory happened!!I thought i had seen a bird land in some high grass and got off the wheeler and tried to flush it!!I told my son to drive through the grass slow and see if it flushed!!When he got about 50 yrds off the trail in the grass a big doe jumped up two feet in front of him and started to pounce away!!My son got so excited and he could hardly take the smile off his face!!He couldn't wait to get home to tell big brother!!Anyways sorry for the long post but man this made my week!! P.s. he wasn't actually hunting i was!!Just don't want anyone think i was breaking the law!!Doesn't say he can't be with me!!
