too_pointer
It was way to short a fight !! I guess that neither knew much of each other, it could go either way. Kimbo pretty well disappointed me though. too_
MCH
Saw the fight. I think the first jab rocked him but Seth really clocked the back of his head. Think that was what really did him in. But Kimbo is overrated. He wouldn't stand a chance against one of the real pros.
mule659
I was happy to see him get beat...he needed a loss just like every fighter...learn from it, mature as a fighter and move on. Nice to see Arlivski win too.
MUDRUNNER
He wouldn't stand a chance against one of the real pros. That's how I feel too.I wouldn't even consider Petrozzeli a top contender in light heavy weight or heavy weight division butI think Kimbo would win that fight 9 out of 10 times. Kimbo/Arlovski would be a good test for Kimbo.
Tominator
OK, now that the official non-hijack time period clause has been met, how about that chick fight? Man, that one chick deserves to be in a ring, cuz she's uuuuggggggly, but that other one needs to be on a model runway or Hollywood or something cuz she's ppppppprrrrrrrrrrrreeeeetttttttttttty. muggs
MMA, not just Kimbo, is a fraud. As soon as we get a big name heavy weight, the sweet science will be all you hear about again, for good reason.

The_Kat
I'm curious as to how MMA is a fraud muggsy? I also agree Kimbo was way overrated. I give the guys involved a lot of credit, they're in incredible shape and obviously, they're tough as nails. But this whole thing is more of a fad (probably a better choice of words) than anything else. I just don't see it maintaining it's current status and interest levels, especially when it keeps flopping on primetime.
HuntinDiva
Kimbo Slice and Seth Petruzelli !!! did anybody see this fight, it was hilarious, the thing was over in 14 seconds !!! kimbo was supposed to fight ken shamrock, but he had a cut on his eye and they wouldn't let him, check this out !!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur4GfOJ9Q7U:cool:
rad_112176
I was at Talladega and got a call about it. Couldn't believe it. I have watched the video a couple of times and still can't believe the guy did it. I think he will be back though. It looks like it was more Kimbo coming in that the guy hitting hard. Have seen him take alot worse hits than that.

I just don't see it maintaining it's current status and interest levels, especially when it keeps flopping on primetime. I just think that Elite XC is poorly managed and sanctioned.IMO, UFC and WEC are here to stay for a while.UFC has been huge for the past three years, and seems to be just as strong as ever.MMA is very mainstream these days....new gyms and camps are opening up all over the U.S.(Matt Hughes just opened on about 40 minutes from here), and around here we have all kinds of local shows that do pretty darn well as far as drawing a crowd. I think most people would rather watch an MMA match over boxing or wrestling nowadays.
MCH
The UFC's take on its PPV fights alone, should let you know that they style will be around for a while. If you book Brock Lesnar against a decent contender and you put the fight on network TV....its ratings will definitely not flop.
muggs
I think most people would rather watch an MMA match over boxing or wrestling nowadays. As soon as you get two big name heavyweights, the lights shine bright in Vegas, all the huge stars comeout, people have fight night parties...much bigger deal. Just no good heavyweights right now, Pavlik is all boxing has, and that's not much. The hype surrounding MMA the past 2-3 years coupled with the lack of a big name heavyweight in IBA is what's leading everyone to think MMA is taking over. But I'm contending it's more of a fad. Heck, if I want to watch two guys wrap their legs around each other while they're wearing tighty whities, I can go to a one of those types of clubs. MUDRUNNER
LOL.Your killing me Muggs! Different strokes for different folks I guess.Personally, I've never watched boxing, but watch MMA pretty regularly.IMO the fights are shorter and more exciting, with a higher percentage of knockouts than boxing. They're not wearing big puffy gloves throwing jabs for 12 rounds. That's just one man's opinion.I know there are some hardcore boxing fans that wouldn't agree.
The_Kat
MMA has been around alot longer than three years. It just got popular like it has within the past few years. I seriously doubt it will fade. The thing I like about MMA over boxing is that no one style is dominant. So what if you can break teeth....this guy will wrap ya up like a pretzel, or vice versa. There are so many dynamics to it. Thats what makes it so exciting.
