Guest smoke.14
Hey guys! I am looking for a Nikon scope to go on my 7MM STW that I can hunt in my normal conditions of wooded mountain terrain here in the SouthEast, but also a sufficient enough to head out west for some Elk huntin'. Definitely dont want to over kill and on the same hand I do not want to get out there and have to take a 300 yard shot and not have enough scope. Please help me decide on the right power??? wtnhunt
Been pretty happy with the monarch's in 3-9x40 here for hunting anything from woods where shots can be prcatically right under you to fields where shots may extend to 250 yards or so. The newer monarchs are redesigned, have no experience with them, but they offer a 2.5-10x42. Still debating whether to top my 7 mag with a leupold VXIII or one of the new nikons. Jorden
The new Monarchs with the BDC reticle look pretty nice...have an omega scope with the BDC and like it a lot
Guest smoke.14
The BDC reticle does seem appealing. I'm eyeballing the Monarch 3-12X42 with the BDC.
