Shaun_300
They'll be out in pretty much any weather. They love the sun, so look for any sunny spots in the woods like logs, rocks, stumps, even a sunny spot on the ground. They'll be sitting there warming up. They also like gravel to eat. Why the boneheads eat gravel is beyond me. I got 4 opening weekend (Sept 20) and saw 10 more, missed one and the others took off before I could get a shot. The past couple weekends have been slower however.
bluelund79
Find the edges...When it is cold and windy up here in WI, we normally find them near the pines, if not alder thickets are the key. Early in the season like now, they are at all different food sources, find some different types of food sources-crabapples, grapes, whatever is in your area...Good luck, grouse are tasty!!!
