SaskBrute Posted October 9, 2008 Report Share Posted October 9, 2008 IM 17 yrs old and have been hunting for bear for the past 3 yrs and this was my first yr tying for fall bear. All my spring baits go just great i have done the exact same thing to bait 4 bear as i would in the spring but its been week 3 and still nothing. Im not sure wat im doing wrong:confused: Really stressin out that im not gunna get my bear this fall does anyone have any ideas of wat im doin wrong or if theres different ways to bait in the fall cause ive tryed everything:( Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

What kind of area is it in and are you putting it in anything? let me know and i'll let ya know what i think. i've been a bear guide for years, i'll help ya with what i can. stevebeilgard Posted October 10, 2008 Report Share Posted October 10, 2008 your bait is a very important issue. i'd go with sweets, as bears have a sweet tooth that overrides food. old donuts, honey or molassas, etc. check with your local bakery or food store for unsold sweets.. SaskBrute Posted October 12, 2008 Author Report Share Posted October 12, 2008 Ive been baiting with all kinds of pastrys lik donuts, cakes, muffins ect. and grease. im using a barrel and im baiting in spruce and poplar mostly spruce..
