dogdoc
comp--the choke refers to the pattern of the shot a shotgun will deliver. An improved cylinder choke throw a really wide pattern---what you need for quail hunting or skeet. A modified throws a tighter pattern like for duck hunting and a full choke throws the tightest pattern for goose or turkey hunting. A rifled choke is usually an extended choke that has rifling or twists in it to spin a shot gun slug for increased accuracy. hope this helps--I am sure there are others that can explain this better--like AJ
dogdoc
Re: need help comp---if you are only going to use the shotgun for deer hunting then I would just get a shotgun with a rifled barrel. todd
dogdoc
Re: need help remington makes a special rifled choke that will screw in the end of the barrel that are fitted for screw in chokes---I don't think they are as near as effective as a full rifled shotgun barrel. Tominator
Re: need help Imp. Cyl. is a pretty open choke. A rifled choke will have rifling in it, which is designed to spin your slug. Given the option of a rifled choke or rifled barrel, i'd take the rifled barrel. Given the option of the synthetic or wood stock on the Express, I'd go with the synthetic. I have an Express and the finish on the wood did not hold up very well at all on mine.
