tedicast
A friend of mine just bought an 870 Express Magnum. It is a black synthetic stock, cantilever barrel gun. He bought it at Dicks Sporting Goods, on clearance for $309. I thought that was a pretty good price. I can't buy the stock and barrel for my 870 for that price. lil hunter
Re: express deer gun To get the synthetic, i think you have to buy their 870 with cantiliver barrel. Then you will also have to buy a scope for it, but your accuracy will probably be a little better.
need2hunt
Re: express deer gun I bought a 20 gauge 870 Special Purpose last year (cantilever barrel and sling) it is an awesome deer gun. I'm pretty sure that our local Walmart has the the normal express with the synthetic stock.
archerjg
Re: express deer gun My 870 Express Magnum is a wood stock, but I think it is also available in synthetic. Archerjg
AJ
Re: express deer gun You can get the Express with either the synthetic or the hardwood (birch) stock. According to the web site, the rifled barrel with cantilever scope mount is only offered in the synthetic stock. If you wanted open sights and a rifled barrel, you can get it in either wood or synthetic.
PAbowhunter4life
Re: express deer gun You can't buy a stock & barrel for that price?????? My fully rifled shotgun barrel for my 870 made by Mossberg was $160 shipped roughly and Sportsmans Guide has black synthetic stock and forearm sets for $39.99 that will fit my 870. So there, you can do it for a lot cheaper lol.

The best prices I have found were $75 for a Reminton Factory black synthetic Monte Carlo stocks, and $239 for a fully rifled, 20" Cantilever Barrel. PAbowhunter4life
Re: express deer gun Yeah, factory stuff from Remington is definitely expensive. However, I just seen the synthetic stock and forearm for an 870 for $49 somewhere, I just can't remember the site
longislandhunter
Re: express deer gun I have an 12 gauge 870 special purpose rifled barrel slug gun, without the cantilever barrel, that I bought with the synthetic stock and I absolutely love the gun.
