Tink Posted October 11, 2008 Report Share Posted October 11, 2008 Flew the Atlantic on a DC 6 once When i first got my VA farm in 2000 i was sitting outside in Oct and I heard the engine chugging of a sound I knew well but could not place I stood up ans a old B 17 from the confederate Air Force landed in Manassas VA It was there for a week and I heard the gutty engine growling and yowing When I was s Kid during WW11 B 17 & B 29s from Brooks Kelly & Lackland AFB would fly overhead When we won the War about 3000 B 17s & B 29s that were training air crews all flew over San Antonio and about 1200 feet en mass waves after waves after wave in 3s 12 abreast What a sight to be hold the good news was my daddy was coming home soon Tink Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
