bfletch7441
Some buddies and I are headed down again this year. We'll be there Friday and Saturday night. Looks like great weather, so we're hoping someone gets lucky. If anyone is looking for something to do this weekend, come down and join us. bfletch7441
We had a great weekend. Perfect weather, good fellowship, and great hunting, what more could I ask for! No deer killed for us, but we sure saw a lot of them. Bucks and does every time we went out. It was the best weekend we've had down there, and we've been hunting it for about 10 years. Greg had 130" 8 point come by Saturday morning, but it snuck up on him and he couldn't get a shot. He was beating himself up for that all weekend. I shot a good 8 Saturday afternoon, but hit him low in the shoulder. All fat and hair on my arrow with no blood in sight. I'm confident he's more irritated than hurt, but I sure would've liked to have him on the ground. We're heading back down probably in January. We'd love to see some of you guy's show up. Good luck everyone! Ben
coondog
James Collins is one of my favorite bow hunting places hard to beat the size of property along with terrain just a little bit of everything and the way its layed out there is still places hardly ever if ever hunted. Lots of game. I like to go down between muzzleloader and gun season early November when there draw hunts aren't going on of corse. Seen some real nice bucks there over the years been a couple year since 2006 since I hunted it though. Glad you guys had a good hunt. Keep posted on when you head back that way.
