ultratec1
Im not going to say that the rut is in full swing here but it is starting. Saw a REAL nice 8 bumping does all over the field. There has also been 3 nice bucks killed within a week. 150 8 with kickers, 155" 10 and 196" 16 last night. Starting to see mature bucks on thier feet earlier. Good luck everyone. Buck75
It's been kinda slow here so far. Went out Sunday evening and only saw a doe and button buck. I did see a 1 1/2 yr old 6 pt trailing 2 does last week, but no mature bucks on there feet yet. Hopefully they get started this weekend!!! Tominator
Saw my first chase Sunday evening. Little 8 pt chased a doe up a hill scattering the other 3 that were with him. I snort wheezed the deer hoping he would come in and bring the does with him, but it scared him off. 10 minutes later I shot one of the does he was checking out. Noticed a good number of scrapes when I was dragging out the doe, so it's starting to heat up here in central Ohio.
natethebowhunter
Went out this morning and only saw a lone doe. I have been finding a large number of scrapes and rubs though so the rut should be kicking in pretty quickly.
ultratec1
Well it was an interesting morning to say the least. I watched a buck trot across the cornfield with his head down at first light. Shortly after that I had 2 does 50yrds behind me. Shortly after I had 2 more does go in the same draw at 50 again. About 5 mins later I looked up and there is a nice 135-140" 10pt working a scrape at 40yrds. Then the bruiser stepped out.............. 160+ 10pt. Moved a stand and I will be hunting it in the morning.
fly
I'm seeing more scrapes finally! I'm still only seeing deer right at last light. Bucks are responding to grunting. Called a decent one in last night.
backwoods07
Saw a ton of scrapes and a few more rubs this past weekend. EVERY buck I saw this weekend was doggin a doe. The does weren't interested, but were being pushed around pretty good. My hunting buddy rattled in a 130", but the buck stayed out of bow range. brownie65
Hunted all weekend last weekend & didn't see a thing until Sunday afternoon. Then saw 4 deer & they were all bucks. Rattled two of them in. No shooters though. Thursday, on way to work & home, saw several bucks cruising looking & some with does. think it is starting. Cooler weather will help. Think this weekend will be the start of some good hunting. I am going in a couple hours & plan on spending the day in a tree & all day tomorrow. KirkV
I hunted hard yesterday and saw does with yearlings, not being followed by bucks, and small bucks 1 hour before sunset cruisin. The does I saw were in the morning and actually came into the bedding area and bedded for 2 hours with nobody ie BUCKS around. The corn is still in on this farm and it may be harboring the bucks though.
backwoods07
I am assuming that their hasnt been any reports because you all are busy shooting deer??? OoOoO quote] Just the opposite of that in fact. Nothing to report cuz we haven't seen sqaut! I'm at home and not hunting this weekend, but Sam16 called in to report. He saw one buck all day yesterday, a smaller 8 by itself.
