MKG1985
I'm thinking of fishing in a local tournament here in NE Indiana this weekend and wanted to know if anyone had some advice on how to find fish in tough conditions. The last week has been 70 degrees plus and the water is in the mid 60's. The remainder of the week is going to be low 60's for the high. The lake is fairly shallow with lots of weedbeds and some rocky shores. Any suggestions on how to find the big ones?
whttlbucksteve
I live in IL. I would go with bigger slow moving baits. They feed on bigger baits as winter gets closer.I caught a 4 pounder the other day on a big swim bait. Randy
What are you fishing for? I'm guessing bass or walleyes?? I would start by fishing deep midlake humps. Sounds like you're not even close to turnover yet. Fish slow and use big baits. Good luck!!
MKG1985
I got a chance to prefish the lake this morning and we caught 4 keepers in 3 hours on spinnerbaits, tubes, and buzzbaits in shallow lily pads. They weren't enormous but they were keepers all the same. I'll have to look at a map to find some of those humps and drops a little better. My partner and I are both better shallow water anglers but if it gets tough or we need an extra kicker fish it sounds like we should go a bit deeper.
