LifeNRA
I found the batteries that were used on the Youtube video on homemade lighted nocks. This was sooooo simple to make! Any of these two will work! Actually they are the same battery just different labels! First got two nocks, one solid and one transparent. The solid one placed in a vise and used a copping saw to cut the bottom off. Sanded the end flat, also took the burr off as well. Took the Thill Battery Replacement bottom end, and super glued inside the base. I used a 1/16" drill and drilled through the bottom of the transparent nock, followed that with a slightly larger drill bit to allow the light to go through the nock easier. After removing any burrs, I used a 9/64" drill bit and hand turned it into the bottom of the transparent base. Only removed about 1/8" as you turn it in! Placed some super glue on the table, use something to spread it out. Rolled the switch end of the light around the outside of the plastic ONLY! If you get any glue on the LED it will kill it! Gently push the lighted end into the nock until it turns on! Leave it sit on for about 5-10 minutes for the glue to set. Then gently pull out to turn off. When you insert this into your shaft push the light on. Make sure you align as you go in! You can not turn this after inserted! Pull to turn off. Done. Here they are un-lit. Here they are lit. Oh yeah it costs only $4 for the battery!
RangerClay
Is this the video you were talking about John?
LifeNRA
Yes thats the one! One thing I added though, I used the 9/64" drill bit to remove and rough up the inside interior of the base. This way the glue will have something to bite into! LifeNRA
But another tip! Before you try to make this. Make sure you sand the nock that will be holding the switch! You want the nock to be loose, so you can turn if off after the shot! I forgot to do this on the first one tonight. Needless to say I ruined it! Arkansas Boy
too much work to save $13 (per 3). I don't mind spending $25 for 3 lumenocks once every year or two.

Sometimes it is about doing it yourself and not just saving money, too often we just buy. IMO
Buckslayer
I've always wondered about making a few John. May give it a try next time I'm bored before season. Yours look to have turned out great!

LifeNRA
Sometimes it is about doing it yourself and not just saving money, too often we just buy. IMO Thats it! Since owning a bow, I been learning to do all my own work. Saving a ton of money otherwise spent on gas, time, and somebody else's price! Besides, it gives you something to work on during an off-season. Not that it is now! I shot them tonight, they flew great! Worked great too! hutchies
Yep I made some a couple years ago............Worked decent. We had a few that didn't want to light all the time. The video says to drill out the back but I don't think you need to.
Whitetail Freak Hunter
They work real good, only trouble is we here in Montana can not use them during the bowhunting season.

Flintlock1776
I never had any luck with the store bought deals. No time to really want to try the home made version. Have fun with it.

Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
I have been making them for a couple years. I see they have green ones out now. Watched a couple videos on youtube and they seem pretty bright. Has anyone tried to make any using the green lights?? I may have to give one or two a try. backwoods07
I had a clear orange nock and tried the red, green, and orange bobber lights. The green looked bright enough, but it just didn't look like a color that would really stand out. Perhaps it could've been the mixture of color with the orange nock? I wound up going with the orange light.
JasonLester
I just got back from Bass pro and picked up a few lights. Ended up finding them cheaper at another store later but oh well.
LifeNRA
I have been making them for a couple years. I see they have green ones out now. Watched a couple videos on youtube and they seem pretty bright. Has anyone tried to make any using the green lights?? I may have to give one or two a try. I first got red and yellow. The yellow is ok, but it does not have the visibility that the red does. I have not tried the green, because the red works so well, even in daylight. LifeNRA
Haven't quite figured why John hasn't made me some for my 5575 XT's yet ... Well, will the Bohning Signature nock fit your shafts? If so, PM me your address! If not, then I can help you. Because you need to make sure the nock end will have a loose fit since it will be the switch. This has to be tested before the whole works is put together. I have a few batteries just sitting here waiting to be made up too!
VermontHunter
Not sure if the Bohning Sig. nocks will fit the GT's or ot John .. But the ID of the GT 5575 shafts is .246" and the Bohning Signature Nock works on the Easton Uni Bushing concept .. so if I had to guess I would say " YES " the Signature Nock would fit .. LifeNRA
The internal ID is the same on my shafts. Things are finally starting to settle down around here. Back to work after having 11 days off! Ill put one together, when I have it done, Ill PM you.
DaveHawk
Aluminum Shafts with Super-Uni Bushings Those will not work for my aluminum shafts with super-uni bushings. I have a totally different design that does not require any special fitting of the nock. It comes on when shot (every time), and can be turned off easily. They can be rotated, removed or reinstalled just as you would a normal nock, because there is no modification to the fit shank of the nock. The nock does not move. You aluminum shooters that are looking for a flawless design that you can make yourself for about $3 send me a PM.
