Guest bnbnidaho
I've never done a forum like this one and I don't even know if this is the right place, but here goes: My son-in-law inherited a gun collection from his father. He now wants to sell some of the rifles and I'm wondering if they would be a good investment. Can I get an approximate value from users of this list? I wouldn't expect anything other than a ballpark figure of what a rifle in decent shape might be worth. If it can't be done on this site can someone direct me to a good resource? Thanks for your time.
Illinois59
I wouldnt have a clue as to where to start getting guns appraised online. Call your local gun shop and see if you can bring some in for appraisal.
Orion_70
Best bet is just go by the values listed in the Blue book of gun values. You can pick one up for around $25. Other factors to consider on the values would be the optics included and overall grade of the firearm.
JJL
Try looking thru gunbroker.com...........It'll give you a good idea of what their worth as well as what they've been selling for.
wtnhunt
Some good advice above. Used to have a shooters bible that gave rough approximate values. Think wal mart still carries publications of them here.
PA_RIDGE_RUNNER
I recently got the 2008 Std Catalog of Firearms. This contains a listing for just about all firearms and their values.
stevebeilgard
another random thought: go to a gun broker. clearly tell him that you'd like him to price each gun at fair market. BUT... make it clear to him that you will not sell a gun to him at any price. be prepared to pay him for his time, also. nothing is free.
