I'm fairly new to the forum but been hunting whitetail deer for 30 some year and i have learn that when you have a full moon they tend to start feeding late and end just about dawn, and that's cause all the brightness of the moon, and that's only on clear night.but hey that's my opinion and i could be wrong

Last weekend we hunted southern ohio and did not see a deer. We know they are there thru trail cam and sightings at night. Full moon and hot during the day, then chilly at night. My guess is everything bedded down during the day. Any opinions??

Yep, have to agree with your sightings. We pretty much saw the same thing. I got skunked on both sits yesterday. I did, however, shoot a nice buck on the 12th, which I think was the full moon. I shot him at 7 p.m.

SPINESHOT, Ive found that although the full moon is in that great deer can be taken during mid day, You metioned HOT, well deer feel that to, just like cattle, they will head to a good watering hole. If you know of one close to bedding that you wont get busted, its absolute money, especially if you see that deer on his feet and you do a grunt or two. It has worked for me three times now. Most of my best deer have been tooken midday. Just like we have problems seeing with so many shadows they do to! USE IT TO YOUR ADVANTAGE. Granted you may not see the most amount of deer there, but if you know exactly where that big bruiser is lurking you NEED TO SLIP IN WAY EARLY ADVOIDING HIS FEEDING FIELD AND PATTERN FOR THAT MORNING AND BE READY FOR A LONG SIT MY FRIEND, BUT IT DOES WORK!!!!! FIND THAT WATERING HOLE!

Yep, in my experience deer move more at night with a full moon. Was pretty clear here Saturday and Sunday. Deer fed pretty early Saturday morning here, well before daylight, then moved some along the river mid morning. The wife got skunked Sunday, thought with the cooler temps she was sure to see something.

Although I passed on all of the deer I saw during the harvest moon, the activity was all between 11:30 and 2:30. I heard some movement before daylight and busted one leaving after dark, but the deer were moving and feeding mid-day.

May be especially true during the November "hunters" moon, with the gun season deer hunters moving about heading for lunch.
