Hello All

I was wondering what the best climbing treestand to buy would be.I am 6' and 220 pds. Looking for any and all opinions. Those that have certain models are there certain things you don't like about them? How about have to replace cables etc. I currently have 2 ladders and 2 lock on portables. Portables can take significant time to set in place and ladders requires help for a friend. I just think a climber would be the best solution. Get numerous trees trimmed and being able to be mobel and also not having to worry about thieves. I just want to get the best one possible. Also where I could get certain brands.

Thanks

Eric

You'll get a few different answers on which one is the best. IMO, it is hard to beat a Summit. Easy to set up and VERY comfortable. I don't think there is one thing I don't like about my Goliath. I have had to for around 4-5 years and have had no problems with it. The cables are in perfect shape, and if they ever need replacing they canbe ordered from Summit or I knw know some other places sell them, Cabelas being one place.

I love my Lone Wolf. A little pricey and probably not the most comfortable on the market but not uncomfortable either. Takes about 2 minutes to take off tree and have back in "backback" configuration without making any noise. No pins to lose, uses a cam lock system to adjust tree straps. Folds down to briefcase size to carry and dosnt catch on every branch on the way out! Super light weight. Depends on what you look for in a stand, comfort, noise, weight, mobility, ect...

I love my Ol' Man, but hate my brothers Ol Man which is last years model I believe. Mine was made around 2002 I think. It is without a doubt the most comfortable stand I hunt from.

If you were to go Ol' Man/Gorrila, make sure your seat(netting type seat) is moveable where you can sit on it to face the tree and climb, and step over it to sit against the tree. Plus that type of seat is more comfortable than the tighter seat in my opinion.

I love my LoneWolf. IMO there great stands, a lil pricey, but mine has held up to everything I have put it through, and lets just say im not real easy on my stuff haha. There are all kinds of great stands out there, best thing to do is go somewhere, where you can possibly sit in one or if a buddy has one ask him to borrow it. Kinda like buying a bow, you may love it and the next guy might hate it.

ive had my API climber for around 5 years i think and its held up great. it is exactly like the alumi-tech except without the footrest and it has the nylon straps for climbing instead of the bracket things that they use now. i gotta admit that sitting 3 days all day gets a little rough on your back like last weekend but for the quality and safety its worth it

id recommend it but now its discontinued i think? but the alumitech is almost the same thing

Finally decied what to buy!

Hello All

First thanks for the replys and input. I looked at the lone wolfs and was not real enthused I guess plus very expensive. I decided to get the new Summit Titan. I liked the Viper SS but the dealer has that model and is much shorter and a smaller build than I am. So I chose the Titan for more room in the stand for those long days on stand.
