Eric
Hello All I was wondering what the best climbing treestand to buy would be.I am 6' and 220 pds. I also posted this in hunting equipment as well. I thought I could get better response in the bowhunting area. Looking for any and all opinions. Those that have certain models are there certain things you don't like about them? How about have to replace cables etc. I currently have 2 ladders and 2 lock on portables. Portables can take significant time to set in place and ladders requires help for a friend. I just think a climber would be the best solution. Get numerous trees trimmed and being able to be mobel and also not having to worry about thieves. I just want to get the best one possible. Also where I could get certain brands. Thanks Eric

ildrhntr
ol' man tree stands. They go up easy and come down just as easy. They are comfortable and you can turn the seat part over as a shooting rest for gun hunting(if you gun hunt).

backwoods07
When I used a climber, I had a Summit Viper SS... LOVED it, but Billkay is the new benefactor of that stand!
revhard
well i guess im by myself here lol.. but i love my API.To me, the Summit climbers are to bulky, and there is too much to do to get it around the tree. But they are very nicly built, the quality is deffinatly there.

Grady269
API Bowhunter Magnum, like it a lot. Also have a Lone Wolf Alpha sit and climb, not a big fan.
OUTSIDER
I have a summit that is in need of being retired...It has welds breaking, but its been in use for about 10-12 years and has been run over by a tractor, dropped, fell off ATV, etc. I will be buyin myself a new summit after this season if i cannot find someone to weld my current one. ruttinbuc
I like my Lone Wolf hand climber for all the reasons. QUIET, very light , easy to use, and not uncomfortable at all.

Chadwick
I've had a few different climbers & I'd have to say the Gun Slinger Climber. Most people have never heard of this 1, but it's an awesome stand.

rad_112176
I like my Lone Wolf hand climber for all the reasons. QUIET, very light , easy to use, and not uncomfortable at all. I would have to agree with ruttinbuc and rookieee on this one. I bought my Lone Wolf sit and climb after testing a few tree stands last year. It is a little bit more money, but when you pack it in and out as many times as i do in a year it has definately paid off. It climbs quiter than any treestand ( including summit ) that i have ever had and it is the lightest tree stand out there. You can have this thing set up in no time at all and there is no metal to metal contact you will ever have to think about. Check into it. Huntin4ever
I have a API Alumitech Bowhunter Extreme (19lbs).... Had it for 3 yrs... Love it..... I've used at one point or another Summit, Ol' Man, Timber Tall, Gorilla, River's Edge.... I wouldn't trade my API for any of them... But one man's perference may not be anothers... I'd say the API climbs quieter than any of the stands I mentioned, way easier to setup (and quieter to setup).... and the teeth on the API dig into any tree.... you could say I'm a big fan.... The Summit is a bit more comfortable... but that's a trade of I made
HOYTnMUZZYboy
I have a Lone Wolf Alpha sit and climb and absolutely love it! Been use'n it for 2 years now. I also have a tree lounge thats great for those all day rut hunts. Only thing I dont like about the tree lounge is its bulky and not real quite to set up. Have a few buddies that have summit and they dont have any complaints about them.
Missilelock
I have tried a few & I really like the API grand Slam. Not to be confused with the bowhunter version ( I wouldnt give you a nickel for a stand that doesnt sit & climb).
Eric
My decison has been made Hello All, First thanks for all the replys and input. Well I finally decided to get one and can't wait to try it out tomorrow. I got The Summit Titan. I liked the Viper but the Titan gives me more room for the long days on stand.
