Parkergirl
This week i missed my 3rd deer with my bow. I have been shooting my bow to see it was me just being a bad shot but i hit the kill zone every time. I have come down to the fact that i need to just relax! I get so excited about seeing the deer that i forget everything i have practiced. How do u calm yourself down before u shot?
cinch314
I was shaking like a leaf when I saw them two bucks come up last night. I drew down on that one 8 ptr that I shot and I was still shaking. I then took a deep breath and steadied myself and got a good shot off. Turkeygirl
As you draw, realize you have time....and make sure you have the deer in a spot to take a few seconds to breath and calm yourself. As you put that sight on the deer...remind yourself to not rush because you want to make a good shot. It's hard, I know, last weekend I blew a shot because I got excited and rushed my shot and didn't settle down. Don't look at the antlers, just focus on where to place that shot and think only that until the arrow leaves the bow.
Tominator
I keep telling myself "watch where he/she goes......he/she probably won't give me a shot...." You know, kind of talk yourself out of the shot. Oh, and don't forget to breathe.
tectonic007
I am not afraid to admit it...I am a shaker too. I get so excited when a deer gets within bow range it makes me jittery. Last weekend I had a 3 1/2 year old eight point walking right to me. I was shaking so bad that my knees were knocking. What helps me to calm down is to take a deep breath and focus on my shooting routine. Oh yeah....and I try not to look at the antlers. By the time I draw back, I am so focused on the shot, that my shaking subsides until I release. Then I am a mess all over again. This routine works for me. Find what routine works best for you. Best of luck to you.
