Most luck? Kinda of a poll

I have had the most luck hunting from the ground without anything but my camo. I have hunted from a ground blind and a tripod and tree stands. I have just had the most luck coming from just sitting on the ground next to a tree. Ive had deer walk within 5 yds of me and not see me. What about the rest of you? Have you had the most luck in tree stands, ground blinds, tripods or just ground hunting? Kinda of a poll here.

I like tree stands the best, but probably just for sights sake. Its nice to see the distance. When I first started going with my son, before I started bowhunting, I sat on the ground a lot or small chair and had deer nearly in my lap. But the more I thought about it, the thought of raccoons and such got me up in tree stand pretty quick.

I don't mind the tree stands but with me being crippled, I have to set up the stands just right or it sometimes is hard for me to get in them. Depending on the weather or how my foot/ankle feels.

As long as you are successful it doesn't matter where you hunt. A big part of being successful is being able to sit and wait for long periods. Hunting on the ground is perfectly fine. In my area there is alot of hunting pressure from surrounding farms and the deer tend to be a little more weary and cautious of their surroundings.

LOL. Hate to tell you, but raccoons can climb.:p:D

Have killed some nice deer from the ground here. I honestly think calling is more effective when done from the ground. The right setup like a fencerow with a good vantage point can be very productive. Sometimes stands are not as good as ground locations in my opinion if the elevated stands do not have sufficient cover.

Just this past Saturday morning I was on the ground after getting out of my stand and had a doe and fawn come through while I was making a mock scrape with my own urine. These deer were within 50 yards while I was standing raking away leaves before I realized they were there. Granted it is brushy in this area, I sat down on the ground and just watched a few minutes and the doe got to within probably 20 yards of me as she was feeding on browse on her way to bed.

The key whether elevated or on the ground is keeping broken up and keeping from having your silhouette seen.
