davetucker Posted October 20, 2008 Report Share Posted October 20, 2008 Well i traded my Rem.770 300 win mag for a rem.700xcr RMEF 300wsm!!I thought the win mag is what i wanted so i didn't have to baby it!!But as time went on it wasn't growing on me!!Like i've said before i'm a pretty gun kind of guy and the 770 wasn't that pretty!!When i seen that RMEF 700 it just called my name!!I put a nikon prostaffer scope on it!!I think this one is just what i wanted!!Now i have two RMEF rifles!!I have one browning and one remington!Now alls i have to do is go on an elk hunt!! I will get a pic posted later!!My camera here at work doesn't get the gun all that close!!So i'll see if the camera at home can take a better pic!! Ya if you've been reading my posts about the last two weeks and trading my springfield 45 for a rem.770! Just because i wanted a 300 and thought the gun would make a good beater rifle!!But i'n prone to having great looking rifles and it just wasn't growing on me like i thought it would!Anyways i ended up trading it on this rem.700xcr RMEF 300wsm!!I looked up this rifle and it goes for 1200 new!!I put a nikon pro-staffer optics and in all the deal cost me 300 bucks!!I think i did end up making out alright!!;) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Shaun_300 Posted October 22, 2008 Report Share Posted October 22, 2008 That was a good move Dave, I've heard the 770s were along the same lines of the 710s which are a cheap version of the 700s. You definetly made a good trade up to the 700! The .300 WSM is a great caliber, I've used it for the past 4 years, I've only taken one deer with it, which it performed great! On paper it shoots awesome groups, recoil isn't all that bad. My gun (Browning BLR) loves the Winchester Supreme Ballistic Tips and Remington Premier Accutip 180grs. Good luck!
