Saturday morning muzzleloader season opened. Nothing much saturday but a few does. Sunday morning i headed out before daylight climbed in my ladder stand bout 20 minutes before daylight. At 8:15 i had 2 does and 2 yearlings come by and feed around me for a while before they headed off. About 9:15 i was ready to get down and being that i was sick i needed to cough pretty bad bc i had been holding out all morning so that i did and started packing up. Well about this time i heard something behind me to me right and caught a glimpse of a deer running figuring my hunt was really over i was ready to go now then for some reason i turned and looked over my left shoulder behind me and in a tree top maybe 40 yds away i could see the face of a deer. The sun was actually shining on him and i could see his tounge moving as he licked his face. Well when he turned his head i saw the horns and got really pumped. After watching him lay there for 30 minutes he finally stood up. And that he did for the next hour to be exact. He stood in the same spot and did not move a muscle. i thought surely he would take the few steps i needed to get a clear shot. Well he bedded down again for about 30 minutes. By this time i was really impatient. He then stood up again and in the same spot for about another 45 minutes before FINALLY(@ around 11:30) walking out of the tree top and offering me a beautiful quartering away 50 yd shot. The 150 gr of triple 7 and the 250 TC Shockwave out of the TC Omega let him have it (and let me have it in the forehead too). He ran about 40 yds before piling up. It was one of the most exciting and tiring/stressful hunts ever, but i'll never forget it...he's an 8 pt and weighed 185lbs
