txsbuda
Has anyone early-voted? What was the wait like if any? I waited 1.5 hours. Really neat to see folks getting involved. Finished at 7:30 pm and the line was still where I started.
wtnhunt
Have never voted early here. Another thread on this just the other day http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77890.
txsbuda
Just trying to gage what anyone else has experienced with regard to early voting this election. I've read a lot of things on here, which added to how I feel about the importance of this election. When I found out that early voting was taking place a few miles from my home, I wanted to get in line and do my civil duty. Thanks!
oldksnarc
I don't fault anyone for early voting. I just won't myself. Election day is Election day. Not the two or three weeks before election day. Call me old-fashioned. Early voting was a liberal concept designed to get more voters to the polls under the concept that if you gave them enough time some of the "less motivated" might eventually make it to the polls. And, please, don't take it wrong and that I mean anyone on here is included in that description. If, because of schedules, demands of everyday living, and so forth - if it works for you. But, for me, I say: Nah. I'll wait.
JJL
I've always done the mail in ballot. I can sit down at home and take my time.

AceArcher
I am waiting for the 4th. I am going to go out and shoot a monster (I hope so at least) and then go vote after I get out of my stand. Sounds like a plan to me.

MUDRUNNER
I voted two days ago and the wife voted yesterday. Our lines were fairly short, but they're trying some new computer type voting in our area, and a few of the older folks were having some trouble getting them figured out so it took a little while. slugshooter
I'm an election day voter. I guess if I had to vote early I would, but it seems to me, Election Day isn't really election day if you can vote a month prior to it. Texan_Til_I_Die
I voted yesterday because there's a good chance I'll still be at my hunting lease on Tuesday, and it's a 4 hour drive back to my hometown. And, if anyone's interested, Obama Bin Biden did not get my vote.
rhine16
I take all my classes on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, so I'm headed home on the evening of the 3rd to hunt. Will hunt Tuesday morning and then go vote....

nativetexan
**snicker** I bet Sportsmen for Obama has zillions of members... Here is an interesting site for the Sportsmen for Obama crowd.... http://www.sportsmenforobama.org/ The whole notion of Sportsmen for Obama makes me just laugh. Especially with his voting record. It's so obvious that it is silly...

slugshooter
I thought the same thing when I saw that. As big on Kerry as I was 4 years ago, I never put a campaign ad picture as a signature.
Hoosierbuck
You MUST check that link above and see the videos of Obama and Biden. Biden: "I am the guy that originally wrote the assault wepaons ban." As her rips on a guy that holds a military style weapon and calls it his baby for being mentally unfit to possess weapons. Obama reconciles his statement that he's not going to take your guns away with his support of the DC gun ban's Constitutionality- by saying that "reasonable regulation" to keep illegal handguns off the street is his goal. Of course, based on that statement, A total ban on handgun possession/ownership is "reasoanble regulation!!!" "Sportsmen for Obama"- Ace, you are uncomprehensible. wtnhunt
Don't worry I don' think Obama will win Texas. If we does then McCain really screwed up. From a non biased source that all can be verified as factual: Ok for states & cities to determine local gun laws. (Apr 2008) FactCheck: Yes, Obama endorsed Illinois handgun ban. (Apr 2008) Respect 2nd Amendment, but local gun bans ok. (Feb 2008) Provide some common-sense enforcement on gun licensing. (Jan 2008) 2000: cosponsored bill to limit purchases to 1 gun per month. (Oct 2007) Concealed carry OK for retired police officers. (Aug 2007) Stop unscrupulous gun dealers dumping guns in cities. (Jul 2007) Keep guns out of inner cities--but also problem of morality. (Oct 2006) Bush erred in failing to renew assault weapons ban. (Oct 2004) Ban semi-automatics, and more possession restrictions. (Jul 1998) Voted NO on prohibiting lawsuits against gun manufacturers. (Jul 2005) See for yourself Ace, Obama is no friend to gunowners or sportsman http://www.issues2000.org/2008/Barack_Obama_Gun_Control.htm And YES Obama does support banning removingour right to buy ALL semi autos, including your 1187's and your model 7400's and BAR's.
