muggs
I was rooting for the Rays initially...but the more I think about it, those fans don't deserve a WS win. Their are fans out there, like Cubs and Indians fans () that are MUCH better fans and they deserve it more. The Rays draw like 2,000 people a game and they had to remove tarps and fix seats that had gone unused since they came into the league. I hope the Phillies win. I hope the Phillies win. True, but how willing would you be to go watch your team if they hadn't won more than 70 games EVER? There aren't many true baseball fans in any state that go to the park just to enjoy a baseball game, despite the outcome. I can imagine their attendance will rise a little bit next year. You're talking to a diehard Cleveland sports fan. I don't miss a Browns game...go to at least two a year. It's not about wins and losses (although I'll take as many wins as I can get), to me it's about loyalty. I could have easily been a Cowboys fan. btw- The Indians were one of the worst franchises for about 30 years and their fans stuck by them. They didn't draw that well, but they drew much better than the Rays and that was even after three decades of losing...not just a few years. Well I commend your loyalty to your teams and I feel the same way about going to games: it's not necessarily about winning or losing. BUT, keep in mind this team has only been around for about ten years, and people in the St Petersburg area might need a few more years to actually build up their loyalty. toddyboman
BUT, keep in mind this team has only been around for about ten years, Whats that say for the Rangers, Mariners, Nationals/Expos that have never made it.....Or what about those teams that have not made it in years... Sure does have to suck for them.
