Bowtech_archer07
That sucks to hear you couldn't find him. Hopefully he survives and one of you gets a crack at him this year or in the future.

bigbuckkilla89
I hit a doe high like that a couple years back. I'm pretty sure the arrow went through the backstrap or something but it was just below the spine. Very sry to hear about the bad luck. Seems to be alot of it goin round this year:(
AceArcher
That is a really bad place to shoot a deer. The deer will likely live...there really isn't anything vital right in that area just under the spine. I have seen pics of deer on trial cams with arrows sticking out of that area. I will see if I can find one. I shot a buck last year in the same spot. Good blood for a while and then let up. Looked for two solid days but then say the buck again a few weeks later. My arrow was complete pass thru from about 20-feet up. Look hard but hopefully he will live if it was not immediatly fatal and you will get another chance. layin on the smackdown
Sorry to hear that man....that is a very very crappy feeling; it is the lowest part of bowhunting...Heres what i would do: get my black lab and see what he could find that you guys may have missed. A dog might be able to pick up on something your eyes can't see, which may lead you to more blood or the rest of the blood trail...If you have vultures around where you are, get there in the morning and wait to see if they show up in numbers, if they start circling, you may have your buddies buck, if you don't see any, your probably out of luck. this technique has worked for me twice in my hunting career, unfortuneately, both deer had been picked clean by coyotes first. Wish you the best.
