dsharp01
I've been seeing what I believe is some rut activity. Bucks chasing bucks, does , and bucks guarding does. Also I've notice Alot of rubbing and scaping going on here in WNY. It's only my second year hunting, is this usual for this time of year of should I try changing my tactics for the rut. layin on the smackdown
I've been seen some unusually early weird activity...The moon is fading fast, our temps in IL have been somewhat below normal, and i too have found a large # of active scrapes, and a lot of rubs...I haven't seen any real chasing yet, just immature bucks doing what they think they should do, but really don't know why...you know, like a freshman in high school trying to score with the senior ladies...just being stupid...I think we are going to have an earlier than normal rut...Everyday this moon fades, the closer we get to the real game time. I would hunt every minute you can from now until the middle of November. I have been seeing more and more bucks in daylight hours, and it seems like everyday, they get a little bigger. Just a matter of time now. Got pics of all kinds of different bucks checking scrapes...from fork horns to a 14 ptr..

Tominator
Not seeing hardly anything here in central Ohio. A couple border scrapes and a few rubs here and there, nothing to get excited about yet.

clrj3514
i dont know about other states but here in NC our rut usually happens during the week of muzzleloading which is in early October
fly
I'm not seeing anything more than I have been seeing seeing since early October. Last week I started using my grunt call and had a 4-point come in looking. I'd say South Western Illinois needs another week before the chasing gets started. The runners have taken their marks, this week they are getting set. Next week the gun goes off.
Strut10
Here in the North, the rut moon's on Nov 13th. The peak of breeding will be Thanksgiving Day. The biggest rush of rut "craziness" should hit around Nov. 16-24th or so.......discounting heavy hunting pressure and warm weather.

tectonic007
Gotcha! Yesterday I watched a beautiful 4 1/2 year old eight point chasing four does around. The rut is coming soon to the woods near you!
m gardner
My family in upstate New York says it's not here yet. When the bucks stop making scrapes because they are busy tending does it's for real. About the 12th of november. Mark
