I will let you know what i have done with it and if it has been wrong maybe Tink can help me out. I have always used Tinks. I mainly use the Tinks 69 doe in rut.

When I use the scent wicks I usually hang them in a tree about 20-25 yards away and down wind from where the deer usually come. When I use that, the call that I usually use is a doe bleat or The Can.

I have always used Tinks and I think the best trick i have learned over the years is to squirt some on the inside of your boots at the very bottom on the way to your stand. I will apply it a couple of times on my way out there to leave a strong scent trail and then once i get to my stand i will walk broadside from my stand right through my shooting lane. The Tinks 69 Doe-In-Rut Gell works best for this since it doesn't get washed away so easily when the grass you are walking through is wet. I have had smaller bucks come right up and sniff the tree and my steps trying to figure out where the doe went. I also have the scent bombs that i keep in my backpack and once the rut kicks in i put them out on a regular basis. Below is a pic of a buck that i had take my scent trail and passed right through my shooting lane just yesterday. Trust me it works.

I have used Tinks for years with very good results. Generally I wait until now, late October, early November. I place scent wicks out 20 yards from my tree stand at 4 points. I also use it to make a scent drag and drag a line into my tree stand through my open shooting lanes. It has worked very well for me.
