MCH
....just took a turn for the worse. Greg Oden was injured in his NBA debut.:( Not sure if Eric's young marriage can withstand such a tragedy. Prayers on the way from Oklahoma. :D:D
texastrophies
This Oden fella, is he the guy that was so much better than Kevin Durrant coming out of college a couple of years ago? You wouldn't happen to know his pay/per shot taken would you?
JJL
You're on the right track Jeff.........keep driving. Greg Oden is such a genetic freak, it's no wonder he can't stay on the court.
texastrophies
Since muggsy isn't able to post, I have a quote from him that clarifies things. Again. It's not Oden I'm comparing to the greats. I'm simply making the point that there's an obvious correalation between a dominant big man and Championship basketball. Heck, look at the last ten years and see how many titles were won by Duncan and Shaq. The proof's in the puddin' boys. Not to mention, I was the only guy saying that Oden should go #1 on this here forum. The only people who agreed with me were the NBA GM's and scouts. All things considered, I guess I'd rather see it the way they do as oppossed to toddybowman or bb11. Once again, my sports IQ shines through like the Sun. I just hope you're all takin' notes. And Toddy, what in the heck is this all about? "Hope this one works out better than last time...." Nice line. Just because Sam Bowie didn't work out and MJ, well, MJ was MJ, that doesn't have anything to do with the here and now. That sorta thinking is scary, albeit, always present when people talk sports. Besides, when the 60 yeard old Commisioner has broader shoulders than the #2 overall pick, what does that tell you? Durant could possibly be the most overly-hyped player to come out in a long, long time. He'll be good, just nothing close to what people (especially Seattle) think they're gonna get out of him. The poor guy looks like the child of Manute Bol and Calista Flockheart. __________________
toddyboman
oh yeah the good ol debates about the next great big man.....:D:D That pick is working out very GOOD for Portland :D
VABuckSlayer
How productive has Durrant been vs. Oden so far in their career? I guess we'll have to CONTINUE to wait and find out who was the better pick. At least Seattle is getting SOMETHING for their money so far!!! buckbuster11
Has Durant ever scored a basket in his NBA career? If he has, he's contributed more then/than Oden to this point.
craig mack
What do people expect? Oden is like 60 years old!!!!! Give the old guy a break.
JJL
His report card was so good in First Grade, his parents bought him an Electric Razor to celebrate.
muggs
This is bad when I have to come in here and set you guys straight while I´m in Mexico (check it out my keyboard can do this-----> ñ). I realize this society has turned us into greased space monkeys who´s ADD won´t allow us to wait more than 30 seconds while our microwave hungryman dinner cooks only to eat it while flipping through the 500 HD channels on the tube- but there´s two important words here guys....patience gentlemen. If Durant`s frail torso leads that new team in Okie to a title, I´ll eat my words. The topic of that old post wasn´t if Oden will bust or pan out it was (for those with logical reasoning) that if you have the chance to take a dominant big man, you do. It leads to winning....look at the great franchise (minus the Bulls who had the greatest player ever) and you´ll see the answer you´re searching for. Good day sirs, now I´m off to the cabana bar for mojitos and tequilla.

Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
if you have the chance to take a dominant big man, you do. So when are they going to draft this "dominant big man"? So far the guy they got went from being an average college player to someone who has played 13 minutes in his two years in the league. Can't help a team win from under an X-ray machine. Tominator
Did Eric seriously post to an internet forum whilst on his honeymoon? Great things are going to happen with this marriage, I can see it now....

muggs
Yeah, I stopped in from the resort, they had about 6 computers with internet connections and I had to check my fantasy teams so I figured I'd see what you knuckleheads were up to. You guys are honestly going to dog drinking Mexican drinks while someone is in Mexico. Anyways, I know you all (except Kevin) are probably Bud Light drinkers so come back at me when you have actually tried a good beer. Then we'll talk man cards. Now that you mention it, I did see a few guys drinking a can of Bud Light...drinking a Bud Light while you're at a 5-star resort in Mexico one can only think "that hayseed must be from Oklahoma.":p:eek: Muggsbow...out.
