muggs
Labatts Blue, so I know what quality beer is. Craig, buddy, if you can call Labatt Blue quality beer, let me assure you...you don't drink quality beer.
craig mack
Craig, buddy, if you can call Labatt Blue quality beer, let me assure you...you don't drink quality beer. If all your friends drank Natty lites, Old Mill, or Busch lite than you would call Labatt Blue a quality beer. Besides I bust out some Red Stripe every once in a while. You cant deny Red Stripe. By all means lets see your list.
muggs
You cant deny Red Stripe. Yes, you can. By all means lets see your list. A beer challenge? Nice. Hmmm...lemme see here... Both the Porter and IPA from Avery Brewing Co. (Colorado) The Burning River Pale Ale from Great Lakes Brewing Co. (Cleveland) The Elliot Ness Lager from Great Lakes The Edmund Fitzgerald from Great Lakes The Commodore Perry IPA from Great Lakes The Blackout Stout from Great Lakes (I really celebrate Great Lake's entire portfolio but those are my favorites). Harpoon IPA (Boston Mass) Dogfishhead 90 Minute IPA (Delaware) The stout from Cooper's Brewery (Australia) Both the pale ale and porter from Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. (Cali I believe) Those are probably my favorites, sure I'm forgetting some. If you can buy it at a Quickie Mart, it ain't good bud. Well, you might be able to find some Bass Ale at a convenient store and that's okay. Oh and you might be able to find some Warsteiner there too, the "Dunkel" is alright. muggs
I'm sorry, I forgot who I was talking to!!!! Nice list of yuppy beer. I guess I can't argue with that. I am a bit of a beer snob, just can't handle foamy water unless I'm camping or something. But if having good tastes makes me a yuppy, than yup it up. MCH
Used to think there was only two kinds of beer in the world.....the kind I had to pay for and the free kind. Now, since I got into homebrewing, I still believe there's only two kinds, but the kind I have to pay for has become very broad. Seriously, if the only beer you've ever tried is one of the large commercial brands, you're missing out. Several of those mentioned by Muggsy are great. Several aren't. Depends upon your taste buds. One thing I can guarantee you, is that if you try enough, you'll find one that is hands down better than the commercial stuff you're used to. Heck, give Samuel Adams Octoberfest a try. Even though they're getting more and more commercialized, their beer is a great way to learn more about the different types.

Actually the best beer I have ever had was (I think this is the name) Henry Whinegardzt (sp) Special Reserve. It is only sold on the west coast , mostly in Oregon. A guy I worked with was from Oregon and brought some back and gave me a few, very tasty. I like how this thread went from Muggs honeymoon to beer talk. muggs
I like how this thread went from Muggs honeymoon to beer talk. Well, beer played a large roll in me coming up with the courage to propose so it's fitting. Sam Adams is a good brewery. They put out good stuff. I think Great Lakes here in Cleveland is set to break out. I wish I had money to buy stock in them. Edited November 5, 2008 by muggs
