fuzz1435
Fawns are still with the does in Nebraska. Seen a few small bucks but no chasing. Have not tried rattling or estrus doe yet. Big hunt on Halloween AM, plan to try then. Cold in the AM's (30's-40's) warming up to 60's and 70's during daytime. Fuzz

Tominator
Funny thing about my bow season so far. I've got 2 kills under my belt, both of those deer were shot within about a 1/2 hour of starting the hunt. On almost every other hunt I've been skunked. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I haven't seen too much going on because I'm either done so quick, or nothing happened to see. Way back in early October I saw a little 7 pt rake a tree, and he responded to light rattling, but never came in totally. The only other rutting activity I've seen was a very short chase sequence by a little 8 ptr on a big doe--that was last Sunday evening. Guest Primetime/IL
Havent seen any chasing quite yet.. I have heard alot of the younger bucks are up on their feet. Id assume with this cold front moving through on thursday, things will get real good! Better be in a tree.
MCH
Saw a young buck chasing a doe this morning. First sign of the rut that I've seen.
hoytman26
I also saw a small buck chasing a doe this morning and the yearling was chasing the small buck. Wait up MOM. LOL My buddy saw a 160" last night on the edge of a corn field and he was just standing watching the does that were out feeding. He stood there for over 10 min just checking them. Couple more days it will get good. Only thing that stinks is that its in the upper 60's now. Oh well they will still move early and late. I live in southwest Ohio. Smitteken
I've been hunting in Monroe Co. IL. Early in the week i saw a few small bucks doing a little chasing but the does really weren't interested. I rattled in a handfull of small bucks this week but nothing worth shooting. Thursday I killed a nice doe that was being followed by a small buck, but I think he was just being curious. I'd give it another day or two and there'll be some hot ones running around. Rem308
From what I've seen here in WV, the Rut will be in full swing in the next week or so...hopefully temperatures will dip down a little more. Yesterday I saw a six point showing a little rutting behavior, but he was actually walking in with a spike buck and following a few does. They didn't get within bow range, but the 6 had a swolen neck. Others are saying they're starting to see some bucks chasing does a little, though I haven't seen this yet. Like I said, I'd say it'll be full bore by this weekend.
