bigbuckkilla89
I killed a button buck this morning already posted about that. What I didn't post was my cousin and I went to hunt our stands we put up on the government ground on the 18th of this month. I got to where I could see my stand and I put out some buck pee in three scrapes. I got around the curve in the four wheeler path and to my dismay my ladder was GONE!!!!!. Someone came up in there and stole my ladder off my darn stand. This had me seriously P>OED. Ive cooled down a little I think I'm gonna buy me a couple locks and this time when i put a ladder up to it I'm gonna lock and chain it down maybe no one will go through the trouble of having to get around a couple log chains and master locks. EKYhunter
Unfortunately, things like this are becoming more and more common. I would never, never, leave a stand up that had some way for someone else to get into it or to steal it. Maybe next time take your ladder down if you are using a hang on. This is why I only use a climber. Sorry about your luck.
Buckeyenut
Unfortunately, this all too common. There seems to be an overabundance of morally bankrupt thieves in the deer woods. They just don't care: trespassing, poaching, stealing it just doesn't matter to them. We have dealt with these types before, and I know we will again. The only way to slow them down is to be vigilant and speak to your local law enforcement officers. I hunt with a couple of police officers, and we still have problems, occasionally. I would recommend using a climber, because they will go through the trouble to steal. We had 3 lock-on stands stolen from way back in the woods that were chained and locked. We also used detachable screw in steps. So they had to walk quite a ways, bring a ladder or something to climb 22 feet, and use bolt cutters to steal a friggin' $60 tree stand. SCUMBAGS!! The Kid
i hate when you prepare for hunting season all year long and something like this happens,, its hard enough trying to shoot a nice mature buck, but when you factor other people/hunters that get in your way,, it just makes hunting frustrating,, i feel for ya man i've been there
