2Excited2Draw
How much longer will Tim be there? Hope he has 2-3 more days, because by Thursday the high is supposed to be in 40-50's, lows in the 30's. ksbowhntr77
O.K. guys, been a busy few days...... I got to go to K.C. on Sunday and waited for an hour and a half to meet Michael at Cabela's and then went to St. Paul, Kansas on Monday morning for work. I got down there and texted Tim and they were at the cafe in town eating. Tim said come on up and so I did. We sat and talked for about an hour or so about his hunt and the weather. It was good to finally meet Tim, he's such a good, down to earth guy!! I wished him and Clint all the best and to keep in touch. Later Monday night we had planned to meet again for lunch on Tuesday, but somebody (lol) forgot his change of clothes so lunch on Tuesday didn't happen. Tim is still in good spirits, he has all day today and this evening to make this happen, so let's all wish him the best. I told him I was sure he was going to take home a big, swollen necked, stinkin' pig home from Kansas, he thought that was pretty funny. He is leaving down there sometime mid-day Thursday. BTW Michael said he was headed to Stafford, Kansas to hunt when I saw him on Sunday. KS

Rhino
Tim says the weather is still the same....warm Dang!! I hate to hear that. From my own experiences, Kansas is just tough to hunt in warm weather.
2Excited2Draw
Hopefully that cold front will come in mid-day and the deer will start moving for him. Too bad he has to leave Thursday, because the weather will be more in his favor then.

BowtechTurkeyHunter
Got off the phone with Tim a bit ago and he said tonight was a great night he had a 145 inch 8 point come in and circle him and busted him down wind ... just as Tim starts to sulk a bit about getting winded and busted by this 145 inch this bigger deer yet comes in straight at him right towards the decoy The buck bristles his back like he is going to fight with the decoy and is straight on with Tim so he has no shots. The buck is at 40 yards straight on he turns slightly and give Tim a severe quartering to him shot and stand there for a long time. Tim didnt feel at all comfortable with this shot because once again he didnt want to chance wounding a deer the night before and with the storms that were moving in the tracking job would have been very difficult. So he is waiting for the deer to turn and just like in slow motion Tim said he turned but of course he turned in such a way that there were 2 five foot sapling bloking the shot and the deer just walked away exactly the way he came in. No reason why he didnt charge the decoy tonight as opposed to any other night just want meant to be. Hes disappointed but he did have his ooportuniies in Kansas and thats about all you can expect with the conditions as bad as they were. Tim will be returning late tomorrow and will try and get on and once again update us on the success and let downs of his hunt. Steve

I've enjoyed this very much:cool::cool: I'll 2nd that. It's lots of fun keeping up with Tim's hunts. Sorry he didn't smack a big one but the way I look at it is close encounters with bucks that make you go is what it's all about. Putting a tag on one is a bonus. I'll try to get some pay back for him when I head to KS on the 15th.
Team Realtree
Just talk with Tim while he is sitting in the KC airport. In good spirits, but a little put out with deer right now. Also found out that both of us will be hunting very close together in IL in two weeks. I'm sure he get on the board then. S

SE_KSBowhunter
Well, we tried but the weather just didn't cooperate. We were frustrated to say the least, but all in all we had a great time and had some awesome encounters with some good bucks. It would have been even better if Tim could have put his tag on one. It's too bad he didn't come down a few days later, weather turned colder today so it should be crankin this weekend. Hopefully he will have better luck in Illinois. Rodney will be with him filming - look out Monster Bucks 17! We got to meet ksbowhntr77 at lunch and talk for a while - good guy. Sorry we didn't get to meet up again Jess, you know how those Realtree ProStaffers are! LOL Thanks for coming down Tim, we'll get 'em next year.
