Guest Primetime/IL
COMPUTERS !! Everything in this world is geared on the technology of some type of computer science ... There's a wide range of fields when it's comes to computers so the options are just about endless ... ;) You can have my job then... No really, I do enjoy my job but if I was not in this line of work I would probably look into being a conservation officer, game warden, or something along the lines of that type of career. OUTSIDER
I am currently in my last year of college finishing my BS in Landscape Architecture, i am excited to enter this crappy economy with that degree...its one of the fastest growing career with the least amount professionals entering the work force...Stats show that if the current trend continues there will not be enough Landscape Architects to fufill the market until 2040...i think i made a good decision. Now if i could change...would have been a Land Planner, then transitioned into a graduate program.
The_Kat
Man, I plan on doing this inspection thing long enough to save up some money, and then my butts going to votech to learn to pipeline weld. Welders are banking 4000-5000 a week BRING HOME out here on this line. You are your own boss, jobs are plenty, paid travel, paid rig, paid helper supplied to you. You just show up and weld. Honestly if I could do it all again, I'd prolly skipped out on college and went straight to welding school.
BowtechsWife
Craig Mack sorry to hear of your job situation. I work in a car dealership, this discussion has been a hot topic for weeks now. I have decided I would LOVE to go back to school to become a Funeral Director. I had considered it after high school, but there wasn't a school near Iowa and I didn't like the idea of the emotional side of the business. Now that I am older we do have a school right here in Des Moines and I have since gained people skills.
Swamphunter
I'm in Corrections and unfortunatley I have better job security than most people.... The benefits aren't bad either... Me too.... plenty O' scumbags around for all of us. My job is very secure, the pay is quite good, and as long as you can deal with the anti law enforcement mentality now-a-days, this is a decent profession. The benefits aren't bad either...
