yote vocals question-clip

I had posted back in the summer about the yotes we were hearing mid morning http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74368. This morning after pulling in our drive after 8 am I heard a yote with similar barks to what we were hearing back in the summer so I grabbed the camera and just recorded a couple minutes. Did notice my neighbors horses in the pasture not too terribly far from where this was coming from. Tried to immitate the barks and get a response the best I could without any calls and seemed like it answered a few times, but maybe not.

Anyway, my question is can anyone through experience say what these vocals mean?

Wonder why a yote would be warning and challenging so late in the morning at the edge of my neighbors pasture near my driveway, would it maybe be establishing territory? The treeline is really the only cover they have out in front, but the woods are not far from where the calls came from.

What might be a good call to try next time I hear these calls? The pup distress with the kiyi did work for me once, but afraid I missed that yote.

It's hard or even impossible to call in a coyote giving a warning bark. Some one or something has upset the coyote, and they are warning other coyotes that something is wrong.

The neighbors horses were nearby in the field, possible too maybe they smelled our dogs in the yard. Thanks again Chance.

sorry it was so long , I have been gone all week on holiday hunting, once they start the warning barks you are done, I have had coyotes warning bark and had another one come in frm another direction but not very often, come early spring I have called some in using the challange, if I have a pack off in the distance challanging me I grab my cousest howler and let out a deep challange bark, if he is the alfa male we wil usually go abck and forth and it will usually tick him off enough to coem in, his hair is up and he is ready for a fight,I only do this in the spring when they have there female with them of packed up hunting after a cold spell!!Like I said before I heard it it sounds like momma is teaching even though the pups are bigger the momma still worries, I got a ton of coyotes this week and most came into the coyote distress doen with a custom rabbit distress, I just used it like a howler, sounds more like a pup but worked awsome!!

I agree, once they start with the challenge or warning barks, you're pretty much done.

I try and avoid barking when I'm calling, which sucks because it seems to be an easy thing for me to do when I'm howling.
