wildthing
I was looking to buy a scouting camera. I have looked at several and was thinking about buying a Cuddeback No Flash model. Does anyone have any feedback to provide on this camera?
hyperflow
can't go wrong with a cuddeback
Rhino
To be perfectly honest...as far as IR cameras go the Cuddeback No Flash would be near the bottom of my list of IR cameras to buy. Daytime color pictures are great but their 1.3 mp IR camera is poor. Also, their IR flash covers a small area too compared to other IR cameras available now. Just my $.02 from running a couple of them this year.
Flintlock1776
I am happy with my Moultrie 4.0 IR camera. It has lower resolution in the dark but looks good to me if you want to consider an option to CB (click on pictures):
Rhino
My top pick on IR trail cams would be a Reconyx camera but they are also on the higher end of price. They take great pics both day and night IR pics, one of (if not the) fastest trigger speeds at 0.25 sec., and very good IR flash range. If you want to spend a little time comparing the performance and specs on different cameras go here and check out the specs, test, and sample photos for yourself. http://www.trailcampro.com/index.aspx
Wimpy
If money is not a factor then the Reconyx is the best one out there, but they are a bit pricey.
Flintlock1776
Very expensive. Nice but my cheapos, compared to Reconyx, are fine. I can have 3 of them out there covering a lot of territory for the price of one Reconyx. I like Cabelas as they have a perfect warranty/customer service so if I was to drop $600 for a Reconyx that is where I'd go.
Guest Tree Toad
I have both the Excite and the No Flash. I get more consistant pictures on the Excite! This year (Nov 08) I had a doe at 6 yards infront of my NoFlash for several minutes and no picture. Then the buck came in running and she left. The only picture I got from it was the arrow sticking in the ground after passing thru the deer. I have watched deer walk and feed infront of both cameras ( within 20 ft) and no picture. Other times I get great pictures. Just my 2 cents worth.
IowaDeerHunter
I would say go with the new Cuddeback Capture. I switched from homebrews to five captures and am not ever looking back. They are THE BEST IMO. And I have used quite a few different trail cams over the past number of years. I have five flash models and am not sure about the IR, Cuddebacks IR pics always seem to be a little crappy. But instead of spending 300 or whatever a no flash is, I would try the Capture IR, cant go wrong.
ToddCountyKiller
for some odd reason, my NoFlash messed up. I sent it in to cuddeback and i told then that the IR pictures wern't the greatest of quality. I sent it in to be fixed and they installed an up to date lens into it (maybe the lens of the capture). And I can tell a BIGGG diffrence in my night pictures!

You set a password and ALL the buttons and controls are LOCKED untill the password is put in. So if they did steal it, you might be out alot of cash. But you know the spineless ******* who took it is pissed off.
