bluelund79
I am going to be trading in 2 guns for this one. I really love one of them, but I need an all purpose shotgun, and found the SPS 1187 to fit the bill. I am looking for both positive and negative feed back on the 1187 SPS. Found a really great price on a used but not abused. I am trading my Mossberg 500 combo and my beloved 935...Thanks in advance, Eric
bluelund79
Picked up the Remington 1187 Sportsman today. Figured I never really shot 3.5" cannons anyways, and saved alot of coin...All black just the way I prefer an all around gun, and killed its first pheasant 3 hours later...Made missing the 935 alot less painful, that is for sure. darth289
I just picked up a 1187 SPS super mag from a buddy over the weekend. It came with both barrels, but come to find out the slug barrel is actually for a wingmaster and won't work with my SPS. Soooo, I've been researching for a day now and can't for the life of me find a barrel for less than $300 that's rifled with the cantilever scope mount, and will work on a super mag. Mach1
Soooo, I've been researching for a day now and can't for the life of me find a barrel for less than $300 that's rifled with the cantilever scope mount, and will work on a super mag. Unless you find a really good deal, you probably won't. I bought a slug barrel with iron sights 2 yrs ago for my 20ga 870 for my wife to use and that barrel was $210. I should've just bought another 20ga 870 with a slug barrel for about $50 more.
MichiganHunter
MAN, giving up a loved gun is never a good choice cause you'll always look at that gun and think about what you gave up....just rob the kids college fund, a bit. bluelund79
MH- that was the original intention, however, my spouse didn't exactly buy off on that. Besides, my son will be just like me, let Uncle Sugar pay for his schooling....And for me, it is that time in life that instead of many different guns, just have different nicer guns....If the upcoming baby is a girl, I am going to be getting a large caliber revolver (for hunting of course) and we will have to see what else from there. I had your same thought, but the new to me 1187 has been 6 for 6 in the 2 weeks since I bought it, 1 duck, 5 pheasants on 6 shots....Maybe its me shooting better, maybe its the gun, maybe a combo of the 2....
