stcif
Does anyone know anything about Field and Stream boots or clothing. I noticed Dick's Sporting Goods sells them. I bought a pair of 1000 gram thinsulate boots for my son. They seemed to be comparable quality to Gander Mountain/Lacrosse/Rocky boots and were cheaper. I asked the employee who made them and he said "Field and Stream". O.K., so they make boots and a magazine?? Anybody know if these boots are made by a well known company or are they cheap knock offs that aren't going to last?? Not looking to bash the product. I bought them. Just wondering if anybody has experience with the Field and Stream name.
wtnhunt
Don't know who makes them and have no experience with them, but I can say that some companies such as cabelas who put their names on products they do not produce but those are typically decent to good quality products in my experience. Have been very happy with cabelas branded boots here.
Trevor G.
I have a pair of 1000 gram field and stream boots and they are nice and cozy. Comfortable and plenty of grip walking through mud and such. I also have a field and stream camo bomber jacket thats waterproof sold at dicks. Let me tell you it is one of the most cozy, quiet, plush and light jackets I have used(whats more is it came with a one year free subscription). I would recommend it if you hunt in cold damp conditions. Last year last day it was freezing rain and mixed with rain around 35. That jacket kept me warm and dry. I cant find any other manufacturer on the tag but i doubt the magazine produces it. Quality seems to be first rate.
stcif
Interesting. Never heard of the brand before but only recently do we have a Dick's Sporting Goods in my area. The boots looked to be o.k. so I bought them. My son has worn them once so far and likes them. As long as the feet stay warm and dry I don't car what name is on them! ruttinbuc
I was at Dick's last night and was checking out the Field and Stream line. It looks to me to be Dick's licensed label. There is some very nice clothing that looks to be very well made.

OhioBigBucks13
Maybe shed some light From what I hear, Dick's owns field and stream, and they want the field and stream gear to be their go to house brand. I personally do not own any of it yet, but from what I've heard, Dick's wants it to be competetive with the more expensive brands in quality, but they want to offer it at vastly more affordable rates. I plan on purchasing almost all of my gear for this upcoming year before Turkey season kicks in, so if I end up going with field and stream, I'll be sure to stop back in with feed back. Tominator
I'd have to check, but I think I got a rain suit last year for like $90 I think. Goretex knock off brand, but it was in RT AP pattern. Keeps me dry, but the 2nd time I wore it, a snap popped off of it.
