All the information we get is filtered. (Like that website William- that really doesn't seem to be unbiased).

In a sense I agree Eric, there will be some sort of spin or bias with most sources. That particular site I linked does provide positive and negative on both candidates depending on your views. If you want to wade through Obama's voting record you can go here http://obama.senate.gov/votes/ and see for yourself that what is linked in the other link as far as his record goes does indeed check out. Also on the comments quoted, you can check the sources provided and see for yourself and determine for yourself if you feel they are legitimate or not.

The sky is not falling. Get a grip and take a deep breath. The world is going to get better instead of continuring down a dead end policies of the last eight years.

Let me share a little quote...

I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

That day has come and african-americans are obviosly overwhelmed considering that only a generation ago in many parts of this country they couldn't vote b/c of the color of their skin.

As a white man...it is really embarrasing to hear all this small talk.

Then you need to actually read this thread. Numerous times it has been mentioned that the reasons the majority in here did not vote for him was because of his character, not his color. What was said is that it was because of his color that he got elected. Sorry you are embarassed, but if I supported a person that wants to severly limit my rights as a gun owner and sportsman, I would be, also.

I can't believe the people voted so wrong this time. I'm afraid for America. :(

I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

I Judge Obama only by his character, and he is the worst choice for President that Americans have ever made.

JMHO

That day has come and African-Americans are obviously overwhelmed considering that only a generation ago in many parts of this country they couldn't vote b/c of the color of their skin.

I can understand that statement 100%, but it's just too bad they picked the wrong black man to be President.

I completely agree that my decisions about why he is wrong has nothing to do with race. Personally I would have liked to see Colin Powell run in years past, but he didn't......I live in Indiana and took a in depth look at why my state went blue for the first time in a long time.. I looked at county by county and literally 85 out of 92 counties were red, but two major ones: marion, our state capitol and lake, Gary: Hammond, ETC went overwhelmingly blue. Reason being they are very highly population by african americans. It's no secret, did you see Fox news last night when they asked voters in Penn who they voted for and why.....

The answer was "race" they said it wasn't the whole factor but about 90% of their decision...That's scary.....

Another major factor in Indiana was voters from the age of 18-29. That is the only age bracket that voted majority for Obama, but it went 67% or something like that for Obama. and it held 20% of the total vote.....

Some young people are educated enough to vote and some are not...The problem we face is that "young america" in general is very influenced by what main stream TV, stars, ETC have to say....Take a wild guess who most stars were speaking out for.........

Now in no way am I saying that young people shouldn't be able to vote, but I am saying that they played a very large part in getting Obama elected this year. By far it was the biggest turnout ever for young people....

Just a very frustrating election, but time will tell what comes of this. Believe me if Obama gets too far out of line not even the democrats will let him get away with it, b/c they know IF they do, then they will likely lose the senate and the house for the next 50 years running for the mistake they made with him and his policies........

On the bright side of things, he can always be impeached!:D

And I'm sure that if he gets out of control, then the rest of the government will (might) take a stand.:o:rolleyes:

No way.

Impeached.....maybe. But you see how far that went with the perjurer, Slick Willie. There'll never be a trial on the impeachment charges of any democrat president ever. The good ol' boys network would never let it happen. So don't hold your breath on that one.

I voted for McCain, but what exactly about his platform do you consider "Marxist?"

Redistribuition of wealth from those who are productive to those who are not is straight out of the Marxist/socialist playbook.

If I can't own at AR-15, I'm okay with that too.

I am not.

This is going to be a looooooooong 4 years.

I agree entirely that Obama's race played a huge role in his election. Look at the numbers. 96% of African Americans that cast a vote voted for Obama. I highly doubt that 96% of African Americans all share the same political beliefs...I wish McCain was black so they would have actually been forced to obtain some sort of knowledge of the candidates' policies.

I enjoyed this, thank you!

Hopefully this may cheer you up. http://sagebrushpatriot.com/america.htm

But..............

This is what really infuriates me! We have a person now in office who can not, and WILL NOT respect our flag and what it stands for!

One who will not put their right hand over his heart when our National Anthem is being played!

One who looks at OUR FLAG and knows about all the people who died to make this country free! Only to disrespect them by not doing anything remotely close to being a patriot!

Like Jeramie said and I agree! He is not my president! ;)

The world is going to get better instead of continuring down a dead end policies of the last eight years.

That's right. That's why he won. Blame the president. It's easy to blame the president because he's the most visible. Even the liberal congress blamed President Bush rather than focus the blame where it belonged - on themselves. Why do they continue to hold hearings to find who's at fault for the current housing/financial crisis when all they have to do is look in the mirror.

Even though the president has very little impact on any of the problems, President Bush was responsible for all the ills of this country - economy, global warming, hurricanes, unemployment, lower taxes, higher national debt, an so on. It will be interesting to see if Osama takes the blame for all our future ills or continues to blame others - even President Bush after he's gone.

Let me share a little quote...

I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

That was a quote from Martin Luther King Jr who recognized that color of skin didn't matter nearly as much as character. How ironic that blacks and liberals are quick to quote it but failed to follow it when they voted. Obama has not been tested and has no character - yet 52% voted for him solely on the basis of the color of his skin or because he wasn't President Bush. But, not based on character.

That day has come and african-americans are obviosly overwhelmed considering that only a generation ago in many parts of this country they couldn't vote b/c of the color of their skin.

Blacks have had the vote for more than just a generation ago. In fact, they got it before women. Blacks aren't disenfranchised - our military is because their votes either won't be counted because they didn't receive their ballots in time to be able to return them in time to be counted - or won't be counted because it's a foregone conclusion that Obama will be the next president.

As a white man...it is really embarrasing to hear all this small talk.

As a white man, I've never been embarassed by open debate and discussion. I see that as another liberal attempt to denigrate those who speak their minds by someone trying to manipulate the conversation. I heard of another person who was, for the first time, proud to be an American. Americans have the right to their opinions. I didn't say black or white - I said Americans.

She may not have been proud and others may be embarassed.... but, I've never been embarassed by my talk and have always been proud to be an American. As a country have we made mistakes? Yes. Will we again? Yes. But, we are the greatest country this world has ever seen. AND, we're a free people entitled to our opinions

What I am is - afraid. Afraid for the direction this country will take. Some have compared Obama to the anti-christ. Have you seen all the dancing in the streets in Kenya, Indonesia and other Muslim countries around the world celebrating his election while carrying our flag upside down? As I understand it the anti-christ will talk to and bring together the peoples of the world. Never before has the election of an American president caused the peoples of countries around the world to dance in the streets. And....

The world is going to get better....

And, speaking of, Obama's step-grandmother called him "a son of the land" after his election. Would that be an admission that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii as his doctored birth certificate would lead us to believe? He still hasn't released a true and correct copy of the original birth certificate.

Who knows what will happen....we can guess at what will happen, but we won't know for sure until it happens...all we can do is pray that God guides him somehow.

Had I voted, it would have been McCain.....but towards the end of all this, I have gotten so sick of hearing them bad mouth each other, bicker, etc....not a real turn on if you ask me....

My apologies for my rants last night. I used some profanity, and know better.

BUT I still stand firm on what I said. Any man or woman who will not salute our countrys flag has ABSOLUTELY NO business leading it. How many friends and family members of yours DIED so we can fly that flag. I have two friends overseas now. Anyone who says race wasn't an issue in this election is VERY ignorant. Like it was said before me, look at the polling results.....96% of blacks voted for Obama.

LOL...I'm not in a Bunker:D

I'm proud to be an American, live in a modest home, love a good woman, work an honest job, and treat people the way I want treated.

I'm watching to see what this President Elect can accomplish. Some of it will be considered good and some will be considered bad.

I've prayed for Him and his safety...just like any and every other president that has been elected while I've been alive!

I have asked God to direct his path and to guide his decisions. I leave that part of this topic in Gods capable hands.

What I leave in my hands is how I react to the changes, or lack thereof, that occur. Should those changes make me take a stand against what I consider to be right and just...I'm willing to do what I feel is needed to have my voice heard without Violence.

I'm an American who has served this great country in the military and while doing so gave complete devotion to it's leader. I will still serve this country with my decisions in the future.

I do not have fear of what this countries headed for...I have prayer for that, and I have trust in God.

What I do have is my God given right to enact civil disobedience, and the mind to know when that would be the correct choice.

I have never been a Racist and consider myself a better person for that.

I did not Vote based on the color of a persons skin and I feel that people who have voted that way are Racist.

I did not Vote based on the fact that I was out of a job...when I did not have one I started my own business.

I did not Vote looking for more government aid(or any aid for that matter).

I Voted because I believed in what, to me personally, the process of voting stands for...freedom of speech.

I do have desires like everyone else...a better life for my family...because I worked for it, earned it, and have not given up my rights to have it that way.

I will eventually have to give up my guns...

WHEN I'M DEAD AND NOT A SECOND BEFORE THAT.!

You know, I work in an environment where the majority of officers are black and/or Democrats. You should have heard the "small talk" coming from them when dubya won the second term. They did not hold back from verbalizing their outrage and I had to walk around as if walking on eggshells for several weeks. Why should the "white man" not be able to vent their outrage? What is good for the goose is not good for the gander? I will not apologize for my outrage anymore - which has NOTHING to do with his skin color!!! It has everything to do with his VOTING RECORD as a senator.

Quote:

This country was based on Christianity.[

No. It is based on...

No disrespect, Muggs...but I think you are incorrect with that statement. The foundation of any country is the laws that govern it. Christian society is based in Christian laws (remember the Ten Commandments?)...Muslim society is based in Islamic doctrine.

..and one final thought...

The President of the United States should only ever consider himself / herself an AMERICAN...not an African-American...not a Latin-American...not a White-American...not an Irish-American...but just solely, an AMERICAN.

There to represent ALL the people, ALL the time.

Do you think you have that in Obama?

Bob
