Steve,

I think you need to review some voting records and prior comments on the subject of gun rights of several SENIOR senators that will now have a friendly pen in the White House. Some of those ppl "freaking" and comments on this bb have merit - some are, well, you know. But chaos, come on. Get real. I complete 4473's as well. I will not give them a hard time about "freaking" out. It does NOT bother me one bit that their motivation is that they believe they may not have the ability to purchase a particular type of gun in the future. It is still their RIGHT to purchase a gun anytime that the desire to do so ..... for now. Maybe what IS bugging you is that their assumption might be correct.

Steve,

That isn't what's bothering me ... its almost like were going back in time to the Civil War and we must wake up and take arms cause the guy we wanted elected didnt get elected byt the same exact process that we fight for ... you guys can't have it both ways ... you want your rights but you slander the guy who was voted in by the same process that got you the rights in the first place its very hypocritical ... period ... If and that is a HUGE if ... he puts a ban out again its not on Assault rifles its on High capacity mags it has nothing to do with Black guns he can try just like Clinton did Clinton didn't get 1/10 of what he wanted in the gun ban.

Your right it is One vote in the supreme court away. Your right there are Democrats that weren't there before. But there is also a couple of HUGE organizations that fight in Washington for the rights of you and I and I for one wont loose faith in the Constitution of the United States. Also it not every Democrat that wants the ban ... there happens to be a Senator in Iowa that fights very hard to protect our 2nd ammendment rights ... don't lump them all together that simply isnt fait or practical.

People buying guns doesn't bother me a bit but don't shove this theory that the world is coming to an end cause your guy or my guy didn't get elected and that things are gonna change over night ... smy change is at least 2 years away Clinton got it done yeah I know ... but then it was undone ... Washington got it done but then it was undone cause it was unconstitutional that weighs heavy on any future Supreme court ruling.

Im actually tired of talking about this I am not telling abyone not to buy a gun Im not telling anyone to stop fighting for there rights I guess Im just being realistic about it and not freaking out about all this stuff.

Say what you want to debate this but I will NOT be posting in this thread again if you want to talk to me about this or debate me ... do it in PM's

It's only slanderous if it's not true.

...and I and I for one wont loose faith in the Constitution of the United States.

Me either. But the man about to take the wheel of this nation says that the US Constitution "reflected a fundamental flaw of this country that carries on to this day." He also refers to the U.S. Constitution in the past tense when he speaks of it. He refers to it a "remarkable political document" rather than the supreme law of the U.S. as it is. He thinks the Constitution is fundamentally flawed. I can't wait to see how he thinks it should look.

Listen for yourself:

Also it not every Democrat that wants the ban ... there happens to be a Senator in Iowa that fights very hard to protect our 2nd ammendment rights ... don't lump them all together that simply isnt fait or practical.

O.K. So one or two out of the whole lump of them voted pro-gun once. The overwhelming majority of democrats are hardcore anti's. Just Google gun votes. It's all there.

WHAT?!!!!

What?!!! I think you're the one that's freaking. That comment is just as inflamatory as stating a temporary boom in gun sales is CHAOS!!! The gun counter was busy tonight. We have a few S&W M&P AR-15's left, one Bushmaster A3 camo left and a few phone calls, but NO ONE was freaking because they could not get an assault rifle tonight.

Face it. The man's voting record as a senator was blatant anti-gun . He will not be trusted on this issue for some time. This issue will be a low priority while he deals with the economy, the deficit and 2 wars. Iran will be testing the waters by picking on Isreal to see what kind of reaction it might bring. But when things settle down or if there is another Virginia Tech type incident, then the debate will heat up again.

There's an old saying that if it looks to good to be true, it probably is. I say he is too good to be true. Dubya has been slandered for the last 8 years starting with he stole the election. I am not concerned about Obama's feelings at all. It comes with the territory.
