nyhunter22
just a quick question. with the blazer vane wraps that have the vanes with the tiger stripes right with them, can you have them put in right helical? or do you have to buy a wrap and vanes separate and do it that way they look like they just come already on the wrap in a straight fletch. backwoods07
They come on the wrap with a straight fletch. They can't be twisted. If you twisted them, the wrap wouldn't fit on right and wouldn't adhere to the arrow.
VermontHunter
The recommended application of Blazer vanes is one of 2 ways .. Straight or Offset .. Blazer Vanes aren't meant for helical application, this is why you won't see them already adhered to the wrap in this manner ..
LifeNRA
The recommended application of Blazer vanes is one of 2 ways .. Straight or Offset .. Blazer Vanes aren't meant for helical application, this is why you won't see them already adhered to the wrap in this manner .. Now if you have a jig to do your own fletching, you can use a right helical. This year I played around with my Bitz, Blazers, and a right helical clamp. Needless to say I was very impressed with the way I was shooting this year. The only thing I changed in my set up was the right helical of my Blazers. I also shoot through a Whisker Biscuit rest. I was constantly hitting a three inch square with broad heads at 40 yards, again nothing was changed other than the right helical on the shafts. The vanes look like a offset was used, but with one difference. The rear of the vane has a slight keel which is why I think my shooting has gotten better. Its causing the arrow to spin quicker out of the bow. Shooting a Blazer with a helical through a WB rest is not effecting the rest either, due to the fact that Blazers are so short. Using a helical on four inch vanes through WB rest will kill your arrow speed, also the bristles on the rest. I liked the way they shoot so well I re-fletched the dozen I have for practice, and the 18 that I have set aside for hunting! One word of caution, if you do re-fletch your own shafts, you will need to let them sit in the jig a little longer, this will give more set time for better adhesion. I use a super type glue, I let them sit for one minute per vane. They don't come off either! Here are my arrows, I never took a recent picture with the right helicals on them. But they do have them! LOL! Edited November 6, 2008 by LifeNRA
nyhunter22
those wraps looks freakin sweet man. they should take your idea and make the wrap with a right helical already in it . like they do now except without the straight fletching. VermontHunter
I've always been partial to these I did up .. But switched to this design when I bought my Katera .. John's are OK too I guess .. :D Just kidding John .. nyhunter22, if you fletch and wrap your own arrows the sky is the limit ..
LifeNRA
Since adding the homemade lighted nocks I made, I am glad I didn't use the longer wraps. But Luke's first set up there are cool! Not sure about the bottom ones though! LOL!

Like Luke said, Blazers are not meant for helicals, but they do work using them. Just need a little extra dry time in the jig. After the hunting seasons are over. As long as your using carbon arrows. I can re-fletch them for you if you want. You need to pay shipping both ways, and supply the wraps and vanes. I have the glue. Just an offer! Edited November 7, 2008 by LifeNRA
