Ohiobucks
So I've got this "new to me" ATV (check it out here: http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78338) and I'm planning on taking it down to where I hunt this weekend. So I go to load it into the back of my truck with the brand new loading ramps I just got from Tractor Supply Co (great store BTW...) everything is going great. I get the ATV into the bed of my Chevy Silverado, look back at the rear tires on the four wheeler, they are on the tailgate I little more than I wanted them to be, so I continue to pull forward. I guess the brush guard sticks out a little farther that the front tires do......I learned this the hard way. You guessed it, I don't have a back window anymore..... I don't know what concerns me the most, my obvious stupidity, or how fast my oldest son wanted to run in the house and tell his mother what happened! Lesson learned I guess....... Trailer tire, huh? I was thinking a few 4x4 block spacers in the front of the bed of my truck that my tires would hit first.....I like your idea better. This just proves, I can make fun of myself just as fast as I can make fun of good ol' Tominator..... :D Usually, he deserves more.

RangerClay
My cousin did the same thing to his Chevy. He now uses and old tire for a spacer.
wtnhunt
Sorry Tom, but that is funny. I have done some pretty dumb things, but I have never done that putting the 4 wheeler in the truck. Usually get off the bike as soon as I get it in the truck and push it around where one back tire is wedged behind the wheel well.
Jeramie
Oh yeah, ive had a case of "stupid" on many occasions! Next time setup a couple of precut chocks before pulling forward. It will save a lot of money and cleanup!

Hey genius. Michael has a 4 wheeler. Woody has a 6 wheeler, and you can pretty much drive your truck anywhere on both those properties. Annnnnd, how are you going to fit your gear in the back of the truck, with a deer, with your ATV? And that's even before I come over. Got a toy and you just had to play with it, eh? Sorry about your luck bud. BTW--you're much quicker on the draw when it comes to making fun of me. I have a heart. I let this thread go a full hour before I commented. Not at all uncommon around here to see a 4 wheeler in the back of the truck with a deer strapped to the rack on the 4 wheeler.:D

MCH
I'm concerned about the oldest son as well. You better nip that in the bud, bud. Tell him if he keeps that up he's going to end up just like Chris one of these days.:D That oughtta straighten him out.
BowtechTurkeyHunter
you can also just back it into the bed since there isn't a brush guard on the back of the 4 wheeler you can get it closer to the back of the truck ... still need to put something in there it will move around no matter how much you strap it Steve
Tominator
You're out. Sorry about your luck bud. I'm out? Good. I don't care. Just give me directions to Kyle though before I burn the bridge.
craig mack
You're out. Sorry about your luck bud. LMAO!!!!! I had a similar incident with my ATV and truck. I was loading mine, with my 10 inch power ice auger strapped to the front rack, I got about half way up and noticed that I didnt have it in 4 wheel drive and the ramp wasnt strapped to my truck!!!! You guessed it the back tires shot the ramp off my tailgate and all I seen was that ice auger coming for my face. Lucky for me the ATV landed right on the back resting on the tires and the rack, so it didnt fall over on top of me. So I got up, thanked the lord and went in the house and wiped!!!!
