nativetexan
It doesn't matter how many gun owners, hunters, whatever there are in America...The actions of a few lawmakers can swiftly remove those rights if in a position to have aggreance across the board. Don't become complacent with the notion that they can't or won't simply because of our numbers. Keep in mind it has already happened once in this country during hurricane Katrina.... It's foolish to think they WON'T make an attempt at coming to get them. Liberal dems want to disarm the people. They are in power now, what do you think is going to happen? If you agree with an assault weapons ban, then you can pretty much put yourself right up there with them. Mostly because you have not educated yourself enough on what an assault weapons ban will include, and why.
Guest COACH J.
Obama has said he wants a ban on all State Concealed Carry permits, and they will not be renewable under Federal law he proposes. Black people fear firearms and when they commit crime find themselves on the wrong end of firearm from Leo etc. So Blacks hate firearms and want them banned. In South Africa the Blacks are paranoid over guns and don't event want people to have them to hunt. In RSA "Self defense" is not an acceptable reason for wants a gun permit, and it you say self defense you get rejected. In the USA black men, 1 on 5 will serve time in prison for violent crimes. I agree with everything he said!
IowaDeerHunter
I can see to where they would put certain regulations and restrictions making it harder and more expensive to own a gun. But what if they did ban certain guns....are they going to go door to door and collect them? How do they even know that I own a certain gun, maybe I sold it to somebody? (I am not familiar on what guns are supposed to be registered or anything).
hogwild63
It is absurd to argue that Obama will take our hunting rifles and ban guns (or the Democrats for that matter). They easily could be the ones who make it possible though when the time is right. I could see in the future if there are a few more Virginia Tech incidents or if the skin heads had succeeded in their plans that the anti-gun crowd could make it unpopular to NOT vote for banning certain guns. Who could argue that our rights to own guns is more important than the lives of children? After all, they are not infringing upon your right as much as they are protecting the lives of people and children. No, they won't bust down your front door and take your guns, they will publically make you look like an idiot for demanding to keep your guns. Do you remember Obama saying he does not want to take the hunting guns out of our hands but does want to take AK-47's out of the hands of criminals? How can you argue with that? How is he going to accomplish that without banning them out right? "yea hunters contribute too much money to the economy." ...and there is also millions of dollars being pumped in to the anti-gun and anti-hunting organizations. Thing is the guns that are stolen in this country are never transferred so how do they find them?
hogwild63
Gos bless Texas In the State of Texas, I do not have to transfer it or make any record of the transaction. It may be in my best interest to do so, but I do not have to make any record of the sale.

What he should do is maybe offer more federal funding to hire more special agents in the various task forces to take down criminals and reduce the illegal firearms trade, and of course the various different illegal trades that would require the need for an illegally purchased weapon. I might also put more federal funding into cities to renovate communities that feed these different trades. Understandably, you can only do so much, and any funding should come from all of these little special projects earmarked by different states for useless crap to justify their budgets. But banning guns is not the answer.
