LifeNRA
This is the longest day in a tree stand ever for me! Got in the tree at 6AM, didn't get out of it until 5:30PM! Whats the longest you stayed in your stand?
2Excited2Draw
Never kept track, but I like to get in stand 1 hour (or a little less) from legal hunting, which is 1/2 hour before sunrise. Then I get down at sunset or so, depending on activity and if I will spook anything or not. Once the rut is near, and during the rut, I have always stayed in the stand all day. As long as you dress accordingly, warm boots are a must.
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
I spent several 9-10 hour days in the stand last year. At one point I sat for at least 9 hours for 3 or 4 straight days.
Tony
2 years ago, i spent a bunch of all day sits on stand. 1 hour before daylight and a 1/2 hour after sunset probably 11 to 12 hours. the rut was on and i was in a prime location. this year i cant seem to do all day sit. i was planning on doing it today, but the weather turned so nasty that i could only handle it until 1030. NY_Bowhunter14
about 4 or 5 hours...
buckbuster11
I pulled the same shift you did today. Of course I did get down to switch stands, so you got me beat by about half an hour. I'll be all daying it pretty much everyday this week.
jbeck
Pulled a few all day sits, really don't like them. Now at my age if I want to hunt the mid day chase I'll get into stand around 9 or 10 then sit till dark. That is plenty long for me. I'm really not that mad at the deer anymore. But I'm glad your still hanging in there John. LOL
Buckeyenut
I put 60 hours in the last 5 days- 5 straight 12 hour sits. My body is beat up right now- the wind and cold take a toll on you. I did see 4 shooter bucks and tons of small bucks. In fact on Wednesday I had one of the first "hot" does in the area on my hillside, and I saw 22 different bucks that day-2 shooters. They came flying by me at 15 yards right on her tail- literally, but never got close enough again. Great time to be in the woods!
wtnhunt
Think the longest I have ever stayed out was probably around 6 hours John. I have to come back at some point to feed the animals and eat lunch. I have probably been in the stand as much as 10 or 11 hours in one day though. woodsman2230
My first deer season my dad was so excited to take me out we got in there at 5 and stayed to about 5:15. That was my longest day.
Rhino
I do some all day sits every year during the rut. I'll be in Kansas next week so as long as the weather cooperates I'll be in the woods from a 1/2 hour or so before daylight until dark while I'm there. Randyman
While I've spent many entire days in the deer woods, i cannot spend an entire day in a tree stand.

Isn't that the truth!! If you are seeing deer, then your butt doesn't get as sore, you don't get as tired, and you don't get as cold. When you're not seeing deer, then it is one long and miserable day in the stand.
fly
I guess about 6 hours. However, I'm planning an all day sit for the IL shotgun opener. I'll be packing in a lunch and warm clothing. I even even posted threads on peeing from the stand earlier this season in preperation. Hope it pays off with a mature buck. There will be some luck to it hunting on public ground. However, with the IL rut being a week late this year the opener should be a prime day.
Bowtech_archer07
I cannot stay on stand for more than about 4 or 5 hours usually, especially bowhunting. During gun season, which is usually the rut here in IL, i've sat for close to 6 or 7 hours. The main reason I cannot sit all day is because I hunt mostly field edges and early season, deer aren't traveling the edges, they are in the timber, if they are moving at all. This weekend, I hope to hunt a creek bottom that produced a shot on a doe and several deer sightings last weekend. Hopefully I can manage a 3 or 4 hour sit there, especially if the deer are moving. RangerClay
I've done 6 or 7 hours. But lately my backside cannot handle a sit that long.
