dfol20
Do you think it is legal to access a river at a road bridge and put in a boat? I have this public area in Missouri I want to hunt and one section of it is separated from the rest by a river, and surrounded by private land on all the other sides. I may be able to wade the river if a take my waders back, but I am not sure how deep it is. What I was thinking about doing was parking at a bridge and putting a boat in to float down to the public area. If this is legal I would be able to get in to a good area very stealthily, it would be a shorter access, and easier to get a deer out. Does anyone have any idea if it would be legal to access a river this way in Missouri? I can't seem to find a number of a Game warden to ask. Eddie234
I would think that would be OK, The bridge should be a state right of way and not private property.
backwoods07
The bridge should be a state right of way and not private property. This is true, but I know IL has some laws on where the public can launch a boat. My friend got ticketed for launching jet skis on a public beach and not in a designated boat launch area. Granted, your situation varies slightly... I would think this would be a question for your local law enforcement moreso than a game warden. wtnhunt
Really does not matter what anyone here thinks, you really need to check to be sure. Think I would go here http://mdc.mo.gov/regs/ and review your regs. Or go here http://mdc.mo.gov/ and click on the map region you are in and it will give you the office number for your conservation dept. Give them a call, they will answer your question and you will know for certain.
