maytom Posted January 29, 2009 Report Share Posted January 29, 2009 I've owned a numebr of rifles over the years. My last two have been Tikka t3's and they flat out shoot. The 3006 shoots .75" groups with factory loads. I don't shoot at enough elk with it to bother handloading. My T3 in .223 that is my coyote and prairie dog weapon shoots .5" with 45 grain vmax bullets. right out of the box accuracy is a beautiful thing. Ralf Another vote for the Tikka!!! Tink Posted January 29, 2009 Report Share Posted January 29, 2009 Savage best for $$ US military Army USMC uses the Remington 700 BDL action and buld the M-40 Sniper rifle with a McMillian Type steel cored/synthetic carbon stock in.308Win Add a Harris Bipod and Butler Creek Lens caps, some camo on the stock and you have a USMC US ARMY Sniper rifle or my old Remington 700 BDL that was magnaported before I went to Africa in 1991 My 7MMreminton mags kill everythign it can see bar none. While I was at teh SHOT SHOW a Wounded Solder made a brain shot ona crippled Axis doe and brained her. the rifle never misses, never fails to Kill Loaded with Barnes "X"Bullets 160 grain coated with a blue Synethec coatign used on gear boxes of racing cars.
